PAM

D) the GOUGHs of Brewood, Wolverhampton and Ohio

Message from Pamela Smith, Wellsville, Ohio, U.S.A.

My gr. gr. grandfather was CLEMENT GOUGH (b. about 1833). On 5 Oct 1856 in Wolverhampton he married MARY ANN BRAZIER . Clement died in Wolverhampton on 28 July 1879. Mary Ann (Brazier) Gough was the daughter of JAMES BRAZIER and MARY BAYLISS. Clement and Mary Ann (Brazier) GOUGH's children were:

PAMELA GOUGH (my gr. grandmother) b. 22 Aug. 1859 in Wolverhampton m. Joseph Hartshorne

Alfred Gough

Sarah Gough

Annie Gough b. 6 June 1869 d. 30 Oct. 1926

Jack Gough b. 5 June 1871

Thomas Gough b. 5 Jan. 1875 d. 18 Feb. 1963

Mary Ann Gough b. 11 May 1877 d. 23 Feb. 1968 m. James Curtiss Hogue

After the death of Clement Gough, Mary Ann married GEORGE COLLEY who was born in 1826 (I do not know the date). I have no ships records or anything to prove this, but I have been told that Mary Ann and George Colley came to the United States in 1882 and brought 2 of their children, Mary and Thomas (I think these were the children of Clement and Mary Ann Gough) with them. Then Mary Ann and the two children returned to England in 1885 and brought over the rest of the family in 1891 and settled in Salineville, Columbiana County, Ohio.
