This site contains information on as many of my Ainslie family as I can find. Please feel free to contact me with any info or snippets of info that you might have. I have over 1000 names in my records and of course each one will tell a story. My Ainslies begin with John Ainslie and Margaret Selkirk who were Tenant farmers in Lanton near Jedburgh in the second half of the 18th century. They had 3 sons. William 1767, John 1769,and James 1771.It is my genuine belief that this James is the first of my line which can be confirmed with records and other information. He married Margory Johnston in 1797 and this is where my story begins.
