Benjamin Franklin Arnold and

William Gilbert Arnold

of South Carolina

This is an Arnold family that I have just recently started researching and it is in the "infant" stage. The two men of this study were both born in South Carolina around 1800 and migrated into Alabama and Mississippi. Parents are unknown but it is known through DNA testing that these two men are closely related to each other. I expect them to be brothers but further research is needed to back up that claim.

DNA testing has also proven that these two men are in the same family group as my own Zachariah W. Arnold of Abbeville/Greenwood County, South Carolina and the Rev. Zachariah Arnold of Laurens County, South Carolina. All these families migrated out of South Carolina about the same time and all ended up in either the North-Eastern section of Mississippi or the North-Western section of Alabama. Not far from each other.

I hope that making my study for this Arnold family public in its early stages will attract the attention to anyone who may be related to this family. There is a connection between these two men and the Laurens County and Abbeville / Greenwood County Arnolds and I would like to find what that connection is.
