This postcard was purchased on ebay and was listed by a seller in British Columbia, Canada. The card is signed with only the initials "M R". It was sent to "Mrs Jane Eichelberger, Magnetic Springs, Park Hotel". The postmark is dated 1[?] Nov[ember] [19]14. Below is a view of the postcard back. The note states: "Ashland O - Hello Janey. how are you better I hope. I am sending you the old house where I was born. next tuesday 17 allready so soon look out for mail man. I will come again this week"
[Notation - Based on M.R.'s remark: "the old house where I was born. next Tuesday 17 all ready" and the cancellation date of Nov 1(?) [19]14 a check of the 1897 Ashland County birth records was made. There were no males with the initials M.R. born in November of 1897, but there were two females: Mable Raby, born 24 Nov 1897, Loudonville and Martha Richards, born 26 Nov 1897, Ashland. The hunt is on!]
