History of Clarion County, Pennsylvania by Aaron J. Davis 1877 Chapter LXXIII  History of Toby Township p. 617 identifies Peter Walley as husband of Mary Greenwald, sister of Joseph Greenwald, who with Peter were early settlers in Toby Towniship having planted crops there in 1797.  It also provides the names John McGarrah and Mr. McClure as the men who bought their farms from Peter Walley and Joseph Greenawalt.  Those farms are shown on a map in Caldwell's Atlas of Clarion County as being in the southwest corner of Toby Township, Clarion Co., PA near the Perry Township, Armstrong County border.

1800 Census, Armstrong Co., PA, (now Clarion Co.), Toby Twp.:

1820 Census, Armstrong Co. (now Clarion Co.), Toby Twp.:

1830 Census, Venango Co. (now Clarion Co.), Farmington Twp.:

There is a record from St. Michael's Church in Fryburg written by Father Scopez ten years after the fact.  In it he identifies Peter as husband of Mary Barbara Greenawalt of Crown (The Wilderness).  He states that Peter was buried in 1836, but if that is the case it must have been a reburial.

Peter is mentioned in his father's will probated in 1811.

Peter along with his father, Nicholas, signed a petition to Bishop Carroll in 1803 requesting an English-speaking priest for the Donegal settlement, Armstrong Co.   The list of signatories is in Catholic Trails West Vol. II,  Appendix 2 page 630 and is explained on page 575.

Peter and wife are mentioned when their children Mary and Nicholas were baptized in 1799 and 1802 in Catholic Baptisms in Western Pennsylvania pages 14 & 19.
