Huntington Twp, Gallia Co, OH.
He married PHEBE LANE November 11, 1784 in
New Paltz, Ulster, NY. She
was born April 15, 1769 in CT., and died July 24, 1852 in Huntington Twp,
Gallia Co., OH. Notes for PVT. MOSES GEE: Enlisted in Revolutionary War May of
1782, Ulster Co., NY. He
served for 8 months as a Private in the 6th Co., of the New York Line,
commanded by Capt. John Hornbarrack's Co., and was in Col Wisenvest's Reg.
These troops were famous for defending the frontier of the state of New
York, and were stationed there the entire
War. Moses was discharged on or abt. 1 Jan.
1783 "near the close of the Rev. War in the state of New York at Pine
Bush, then a frontier settlement, to the west of Kingston then called
Esopus". The troops were
discharged by word. Abstract of his Pension file: "Moses, Phebe, W5280, NY Line, sol
was b in 1760 in Dutchess Co NY & sol lived near Esopus (later called
Kingston) in Ulster Co NY at enl, sol appl 10 Aug 1832 Gallia Co OH a res
of Huntington township OH, sol had m Phebe (--) 10 Nov 1784 in Orange Co
NY & she was b 15 Apr 1769 & they lived in NY until 27 May 1819
then moved to Gallia Co OH & sol d there 6 Feb 1842 & widow
applied there 5 Jul 1850.
He was a resident of Colchester in 1800
and by 1810 had moved to Wayne, Steuben County, New York. He died Feb. 6,
1842, in Gallia County, Ohio. Burial: Sheppard Cemetery, Vinton,
Gallia Co., OH. Cemetery located Jones Rd. & Keystone
Rd. Conflict b. 10 Nov.
