Here is a quick rundown of the matching DNA tests for
the “Unknown Baker” group.
Most have had the 37 marker tests run as the 12 marker tests
have proven to give many false matches and all tests should be
extended.
The first test listed is that of Bob Lee Baker that
produces a situation that could result from having only the
12-marker test. His ancestral
line as posted matches that of another group while his 12-marker
test matches that of “our” group and he hasn’t expanded his test to
help clarify his ancestry.
Some researches believe his ancestry goes wrong with one of
the Bazel Baker’s as there were so many Bazel’s in that era while
other researcher believe his lineage is good up through Zebediah
Baker and Cassandra Evans.
There is the test of
Private Corder whose test results are a perfect match for the Baker
group yet he is not a Baker. A possible explanation could be an
unknown adoption somewhere in his unknown
ancestry.
As you can see when you study these tests that DNA
testing can produce more questions than answers and this is true in
our ”Unknown Baker” group while the tests have been a great help
with other groups.
Expanded coverage of some of these lines have been
donated by the DNA test owners and can be seen by clicking on the
gold buttons.
These lines except that of REASON BAKER have not been
personally documented by me but are posted here for the purpose of
finding our common links and common ancestor who presumably resided
in Maryland. DNA testing can
only go so far and after that we must do the detective work to find
our common ancestor. We are
all hoping that the reader will hold the missing pieces of our
genealogical puzzle and will give us the needed assistance.
