My Baker line as I know it is as follows:  Nora Jane Baker born in Powell County KY, was the daughter of William Franklin Baker, he was said to have been born in South Carolina date unknown, he died in Powell Co, KY. William was the son of Isaac Baker born in Grayson Co., VA* and died in Powell County, KY. he was the son of Elijah Baker place of birth unknown, he died in Estill County, KY. he was the son of Reverand Andrew Baker. 

Elijah Baker [son of Rev. Andrew Baker]:  b 1749  d aft 1870 Estill Co. Ky., m 1817 to Sarah Jones b aft 1798  d aft 1840.

I can find little documentation for Elijah Baker but as a child my grandmother always told me that he was Isaac's father. Elijah is said to have married Sarah (or Sally) Jones but here again, documentation cannot be found in VA or NC.  I find Elijah Baker in Kentucky for the first time in the 1850 census of Breathitt County; he was apparently a widower at that time.  He is reported in the 1860 census, and the Estill County census in 1870 at age 84. He does not appear in the census reports after that.  

*Documentation from Isaac's second marriage (documentation from the first marriage cannot be found) states that his father was "born in
Grayson, Co., VA".
