BAKER FAMILY HISTORY AND GENEALOGY

All the information on this page and linked pages have been contributed by Bonnie Gay with the

exception of the Madison County Deed, which I photo copied when researching my Baker line in

Madison County, Kentucky.

I have not verified any of her research and am not familiar with her line.

If you have questions or information for Bonnie you

can contact her through the e-mail link at the bottom of the page.

Edward Was the founder of the Kerby Knob Baptist Church, Kerby Knob, Jackson County, Kentucky.
Baptist Minister, Ordainded 1854.

If he was born in Madison County, which records seem to indicate, Where he was probably living in now Jackson County, Kentucky. Not too far from where I was born in Foxtown, Jackson County, Kentucky. It's on the road that runs from McKee, Jackson County to Irvin which is in Estill County. But much of that area was Madison County, since Jackson did not become a County until 1868.

Station Camp Creek, if I remember correctly is near the present town of Irvin, Estill County, Kentucky, which would not be far from where Edwin lived.

Descendancy of Rev. Edwin J. Baker

He was living in the area that was Madison County prior to 1858, when Jackson County came into being.  Also in the area were Van Winkles, Kirby's, Isaacs and other associated names. This is also the area that my grandfather John Aquilla "Quiller" lived, and not too far from where I was born.

From putting all of this together, one could make the assumption that he married his first cousin Frances, who was the daughter of his uncle Burgess and that his father was Reason, son of Basil???????

Well, the search continues....I appreciate your help.
