Calling is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, for Charles E. Dolby, 85, a former resident of 246 Vine St., who died at 2:45 a.m. Monday (July 12, 1999) at the United Methodist Memorial Home in Warren.

Mr. Dolby was a self-employed barber and had been a Huntington city firefighter until retiring in 1974. During his years with the fire department, he also worked at the Home Lumber Company. He was a 50-year member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church. He graduated from Lancaster High School in 1931. He was born Aug. 27, 1913, in Huntington to C. Franklin and M. Gertrude Beghtel Dolby. He married Loretta De Vault in Huntington May 19, 1940. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Richard L. Dolby, New Haven, Steven C. Dolby, Middlebury, and Thomas W. Dolby, Honolulu, Hawaii; two daughters, Mrs. Samuel (Carol) Shenefield, Huntington, and Sandra K. Dolby, Bloomington; a sister, Mary Hull, Reedley, Calif.; 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Phillip Dolby, George Dolby and John Dolby. There will be additional calling from 9:30 a.m. until the 10:30 a.m. funeral service Thursday at Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel. Rev. Ronald Storms will officiate at the service. Burial will be at the Lancaster Cemetery, Lancaster. Preferred memorials are to the Evangelical United Methodist Church, 1000 Flaxmill Rd., Huntington, IN 46750 or to Huntington Home Health and Hospice, 1215 Etna Ave., Huntington, IN 46750.

Loretta K Dolby, 90 of Warren, (formerly of Vine Street, Huntington) died at 5:15 AM on Thursday, May 23, 2002 at the United Methodist Memorial Home in Warren. Mrs. Dolby was a teacher with the Huntington County School Corporation. She taught at Clear Creek Elementary School and at Northwest Elementary School retiring in 1973. She was a member of the Retired Teachers State and County Association. She was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Huntington. She was a 1930 graduate of Hastings High School in Hastings, Michigan. She was a 1938 graduate of Manchester College.

She was born on October 10, 1911 in Cerro Gordo County, Illinois a daughter of Charles William and Clara Etta (Henricks) DeVault. She was united in marriage to Charles Dolby on May 19, 1940 in Huntington. He preceded her in death on July 12, 1999. Survivors include three sons: Richard L. Dolby of Prescott Valley, AZ., Steven C. Dolby of Middlebury, IN., Thomas W. Dolby of Honolulu, HA., two daughters: Mrs. Samuel (Carol) Shenefield of Huntington, Sandra Dolby of Bloomington, IN., a brother: Eldine C. DeVault of Prescott, AZ., a step brother: Charles Emerick of Wabash, twelve grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. A brother: J. Lester DeVault, a sister: Louella Dice and a grandson: Charles Owen Dolby preceded her in death.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 28, 2002 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana. Services will be on Wednesday, May 29, 2002 at 10:00 AM at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Rev. John Wallace officiating. Interment will be at the Lancaster Cemetery in Huntington County. Preferred memorials are to the Evangelical United Methodist Church in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750

Charles O Dolby,16, New Haven, died at 2:53 a.m. Saturday at Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne, following a traffic accident in Allen County.

Mr. Dolby was a member of the Grace Fellowship Church, New Haven, and an employee of Kroger, New Haven. A junior at New Haven High School, he was involved in the school band and Masque and Gavel.

Mr. Dolby was born Nov 20 1971 in Huntington to Richard and Becky Dolby, who survive. His parents live in New Haven.

Also surviving are two brothers, Daniel Dolby, New Haven, and Rodney Dolby, Fort Wayne; a sister, Teresa Cline, Wabash; his grandparents, Charles and Loretta Dolby, and Bill and Justine Pontzious, all of Huntington; and his great grandmothers, Nola Coak, Camp Verde Ariz and Bonnie DeVault, Union City.
