C Frank Dolby, 60, office manager and assistant-treasurer of the Huntington Laboratories and active in United Brethren church work, died at his home four and a half miles south of the city on state road 9 at 5:55 am Thursday following an illness of several weeks.

Born September 21, 1877, in Lancaster township, he was the son of Samuel and Amanda Dolby and was married March 16, 1904 in this to M. Gertrude Beghtel who survives.

Five children were born to the couple, Charles E., John R, and Phillip,all at home; George P., of Chicago; and Mrs. Mary Hull, of Ostranger, Ohio. Six grandchildren, two brothers and a sister, Ora E Dolby, F Earl Dolby and Mrs Mae Iry, of this city also survive.

Mr. Dolby attended State Normal at Terre Haute and was graduated from the Huntington Business university. He taught in the Clearl Creek high school for several years and then entered into clerical work in which he continued until his last illness.

He first worked as bookkepper and cashier for the F. Dick Clothing company of this city for four years and then transferred to the Huntington Trust and Savings bank as assistant cashier for eight years

Mrs. M. Gertrude Beghtel Dolby, 88, resident of 230 Vine St. died Saturday at 6:30 am at the Hillcrest Nursing Home, Columbia City. Mrs. Dolby had been a patient in the nursing home for five weeks, and prior to that time was a patient at Huntington County Hospital since September 8, 1966. She had been in failing health for the last six months and seriously ill for two weeks.

Born February 13 1879 in Clear Creek Township to Eli and Sarah Jane Wagoner Beghtel,she had been a lifelong resident of Huntington County, and had resided at the Vine Street address since 1943. Her marriage was to Charles F Dolby on March 16, 1904 and he preceded her in death June 23, 1938.

Mrs. Dolby was a member of the First U B Church and taught Sunday School for many years. She was the oldest alumni of Huntington College. In addition to Huntington College she also attended Terre Haute Normal. Mrs. Dolby taught school at Lininger and Best schools in Clear Creek Township.

Surviving is one daughter, Mrs. G V (Mary) Hull of Reedley Cal., and four sons, George P and Charles E of Huntington, John R of Rt 7 Huntington adn Philip R Columbia City, and one brother Floyd Beghtel of Evansville. There are 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Deceased are a sister Mrs. F C (Opal) Mahoney and a brother Robin Beghtel.

Friends may call at the Robbins Funeral Home Sunday after 11 am. Services will be Tuesday at 10 am at the funeral home with Rev. Robert E. Seitz officiating. Burial will be in Lancaster cemetery.

Pallbearers were Howard Decker, Earnest Greider, Earl Heck,Ray Abner, Arley Rickart and Kenneth Pratt. Honorary Pallbearers were J E Snyder, Ben Clark, Errett Williams, Harry Wagoner, Guy Brookover, Herbert Eberhart, Elmer Prill and Harry Miller.

Phillip Raymond Dolby, 56, Columbia City, a native of Huntington,died at 11:47 pm Wednesday in the Whitley County memorial Hospital.

He had taught school for several years in the Huntington and Whitley County areas retiring in 1973, when he became employed as staff assistant in Evangelism and Worship at the Columbia Cit United Methodist Church. He directed music iin the church for 15 years.

Born May 21,1917 to Frank and Gertrude Beghtel Dolby,his marriage was on Aug 4 1940, in Huntington to Alvena M Midaugh who survives.

Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Marilyn Squler, Las Vegas, Nev., two grandchildren, three brothers, George Dolby, Charles Dolby and John Dolby, all of Huntington,and a sister, Mrs Mary Hull, Redding Calif.

Friends may call at the J A DaMoney and Son Funeral Home, Columbia City, after 1 pm Saturday,where services will be held at 2 pm with Rev. Edward S Vaught officiating.
