Clyde A Dolby was born in Wright MO May 6 1871 and passed quietly away at Elida NM Wednesday April 4 1917 aged 45 years and 11 months.

He was married to Lillie V Drake Nov 11 1900 near Geary OK and four children were born to this union; all of whom and the mother, survive him and were at the funeral. In March 1906, the deceased "homesteaded" near Elida and in September following, he and his family moved to the claim where they resided until his health failed so badly they moved into town and made their permanent home in Elida. Besides his immediate family, Mr Dolby leaves 5 sisters and two brothers of the near relatives to mourn his departure. Of these only one sister, Mrs Ed Clay of Wellington TX was present at the funeral. The others lived too far away to reach here in time. Rev. Thurston, Pastor of the M E Church at Elida conducted the funeral services which were held at the cemetery at 4:30 PM Thursday April 5 and the remains were laid to rest.

The deceased realized toward the latter part of his sickness that the end was near, but he was resigned and told his friends he did not fear to go. Clyde is indeed gone, but he will not be forgotten.
