EMMA (DOLBY) STOUT - PIONEER STATE RESIDENT DIES
Services to be set for Mrs. Emma Stout
Mrs. Emma Stout, 87, of 214 North N avenue, Oklahoma pioneer woman and resident of El Reno for 15 years, died this morning at the home of her daughter in Kingfisher. Mrs. Stout had been ill for seven weeks. Born in Harrisburg, Pa., she and her husband settled on a homestead farm near Calumet in 1889 (sic should be 1892). They made the land run from Clay Center, Kansas. Active throughout her life in church activities, Mrs. Stout was the first contributor to the building of Mount Zion Church, north of El Reno. At the time of her death, she was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Kingfisher. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pentecostal Holiness Church in El Reno. Rev. Paul Holmes will officiate, assisted by Rev. Alfred Spell of the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Kingfisher and Rev. J.D. Keen, minister of Assembly of God Church in Kingfisher. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Esther Trindle, Kingfisher, Mrs. Mary Stephens, 912 East Forman street, and Mrs. Doris Summers, 414 North Rock Island avenue; and four sons, Joe Stout, 214 North N avenue, Chris Stout. of 410 South Rock Island, Charlie Stout, Okmulgee, and Roy Stout, Waldron, Ark. Wilson funeral home will arrange services. Burial will be in Kingfisher cemetery. (note, she is buried in the Esther and Floyd Trindle family plot)

MELTON J. STOUT Succumbs Today
Melton J. Stout 87-year-old pioneer resident of Canadian county, died at 2 a.m. today at his home, 510 South Barker Avenue, after an illness which extended over a number of years. Memorial rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Faith Tabernacle, 601 North Evans Avenue, with Rev. Joseph B. Lewis, pastor, Officiating. Burial will be made at Beecham Cemetery, nine miles north and a mile east of El Reno, with Garrison funeral home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Stout was born June 15, 1853, at Lewisburg, Pa. From there he moved to Kansas before moving to Canadian county in 1892. He homesteaded northwest of El Reno, and has resided in the county continuously since that time. Survivors include the widow, of the home address; four sons, Chris and Charles Stout, both of El Reno, Joe Stout of Calumet and Roy Stout of lindsay, Calif.; and three daughters, Mrs. Dora Summers of Willowbrook, Calif., Mrs. Asher Stephens of El Reno and Mrs. Esther Trindle of Wagoner. There also are 36 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren who survive.

Pioneer of Opening of 1892 Dies at Home in El Reno
Melton J. Stout, a homesteader in Canadian County during the run of 1892, died Monday at his home at 501 South Barker at the age of 87 years. He was born in Lewisburg, Pa. and came here from Kansas to engage in the Cheyenne & Arapaho opening. (land run) He took a claim northwest of El Reno and has resided here continuously since that time. Survivors include the wife and seven children, Mrs. Dora Summers of Willowbrook, Calif., Mrs. Asher Stevens (sic should be Stephens) of El Reno, Mrs. Esther Trimble of Wagoner, Joe of Calumet, Chris and Chas. of El Reno, Roy of Lindsay, Calif., 36 grandchildren, and 33 great grandchildren. Funeral rites were conducted Wednesday from the Faith Tabernacle Church by Rev. Joe B. Lewis, and enterment was made in the Beecham Cemetery.
