Isaac Dolby, an old and highly respected citizen of Lancaster township, died yesterday morning about five o'clock at the age of eighty-one years. He was only sick a few hours, taking a chill the evening before his death and sinking rapidly. The funeral will be held Saturday from the late residence and burial be made in the Lancaster cemetery (Huntington Daily Democrat - Friday Dec 20 1889 Pg 4)

Yesterday morning at ten o'clock, occurred the death of Mrs. Caroline M. Dolby, in Lancaster township. The deceased was seventy-five years and eighteen days old at time of her death. The funeral will be held at 9 o'clock tomorrow morning from the house and the Rev. Joseph Leedy will officiate. (Huntington Daily Democrat - Mon May 25 1891 Pg 3)

Abraham Dolby, 76 was found dead in bed at his home in West Main Street at 3 o'clock Sunday morning. Death was due to heart trouble. Mrs Dolby was awakened and seeing that her husband was quite cold attempted to replace the covers on him and discovered that he had expired. The aged man followed the trade of a cooper until a few months ago. The widow, three daughters and a sons survive.

Gardens of Memory Cemetery

Emery Jason Dolby, 79, Rt. 1, Van Buren, died at 7:20 pm Sunday at Marion General Hospital following two weeks illness. Mr. Dolby was born in Huntington County. He was a retired minister and farmer. He was a member of the Pilgrim Holiness Church and attended Dillman United Brethren Church.

Surviving are a son, Wilbur E, Marion, 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and four sisters, Mrs. Rosa B Jones, Mrs Mary DePoy and Mrs. Bertha Cullers, all of Huntington, and Mrs Anna Edmonds , Los Angeles, Calif. Funeral services will beheld at 2 pm Thursday at the Dillman United Brethren CHurch with the Rev. R. Willoughby officiating. The Rev. J Kent will assist. Burial will be in gardens of Memory. Friends may call after 7 pm Wednesday at Owen-Weilert Funeral Home, 2722 S. Washington St. (Contributed by Paul Haley - Marion Chronicle February 8 1971)

Funeral services for Sylvia M Dolby, 69, LaFontaine, who died at 6 pm Saturday at Marion General Hospital, will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, at the Brenneman-Hunter Funeral Home. The services will be conducted by the Rev. Howard Barefoot of Huntington, and burial will be in the Gardens of Memory. Friends may call after 5 PM Monday

A native of Jefferson Township , Mrs. Sylvia M Dolby, 70, wife of Emery Jason Dolby, Rt. 1, LaFontaine, died at 6 pm Saturday in the Marion General Hospital, after an illness of five years and serious illness of six weeks. Mrs. Dolby was born May 11, 1894, in Huntington County to John adn Susan Johnson Parrett. She marreid Mr. Dolby May 15, 1915, in Jefferson Township. The couple lived the last 30 years on a farm, Rt. 1 LaFontaine.

Surviving are the husband, a son, Wilbur Dolby, Rt 1 Marion, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Cora Rollin, Los Angeles CA. Mrs Dolby was a member of the Pilgrims Holiness Church, Huntington. The body is at the Brenneman-Hunter funeral home in LaFontaine, Funeral plans were incomplete Saturday night pending word from the sister in California. Wilbur E Dolby, 81, 1630 Jeffras Ave. died at 3:15 a.m. Tuesday in marion General Hospital. Mr. dolby was born in Huntington County and was a longtime resident of marion. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He retired in 1985 as a welder in the maintenance department of Foster-Forbs Glass co., after 33 years. He was a member of the glass blowers union.

Survivors include three sons, David (Cherlyn), Marion, DeWitt (Donna), Riverside, R. I., and Gregory W. (Emma), Cranston, R. I., two daughters, Karen Powell, Marion, and Mary E. (Jerry) Sellers, Cullver, Indiana. his longtime companion, Geneva Boyd, Marion; 31 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 1p.m. Friday in Needham-Story Funeral Home, Marion, with Rev. Tom Mansbarger officiating. Burial in the Gardens of Memory, Huntington. (Contributed by Paul Haley)

Evelyn Marie (Haley) Dolby, 80, died at 11:10 p.m. Monday in Colonial Oaks Health Care Center. She was born in Marion IN to the late Wm. H. and Mary E. (Cain) Haley and previously lived in the Springfield and Jacksonville IL for 35 years. She was employed as an LPN at the IL State Hospital, Springfield. She attended the Marion Church of the Brethren.

Survivors include her children, Karen (Larry) Van Zandt, Marion; Mary Sellers, Plymouth; David (Cheryln) Dolby, Van Buren and Gregory (Amy) Dolby, Rhode Island; brother Paul (Ena) Haley, Marion; sisters Joyce (William) Huffman, Fairmont; Wilma Elliott, Gas City, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her brothers, Robert, Russell, Lawrence, William & Glenn Haley; sisters Anna Elliott and Mary Catherine Haley and a sons William J. DeWitt Dolby. Funeral service is a 1 p.m. Friday July 28, 2006 at Needham-Storey- Wampner Funeral Service North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave. Marion with Rev. Bill House officiating. Burial will take place in Estates of Serenity Marion. (Contributed by Paul Haley)
