John R. Dolby, 84, a resident of Lancaster Township, died at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at his home.
Mr. Dolby was a retired farmer and had worked as a substitute rural mail carrier. He was a 1933 graduate of Lancaster High School and was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church. He was born May 7, 1915 in Huntington County to Charles Franklin Dolby and Margie Gertrude Bechthel. He married Catherine Lahr April 5, 1942 in Huntington; she died Dec. 9, 1993.
Surviving are a daughter, Margaret "Peggy" Cussen, Fort Wayne; a brother, Charles Dolby, Huntington; a sister, Mary Hull, Reedley, Calif.; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, George Dolby and Phillip Dolby. Calling is 4-8 p.m. Monday and 1-2 p.m. Tuesday at Deal-Robbins & Van Gilder Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be at Lancaster Cemetery

Catherine E. Dolby,76, 244 S. Marion Road, Huntington, died at 9:35 pm Thursday in Miller's Merry Manor, Huntington.
Mrs. Dolby was born in Clear Creek Township, Huntington County. She was a homemaker. SHe was a member of Evangelical United Methodist Church, Huntington. She was a member of the church's Hanna Circle and Better Living Home Economics Club.
Survivors include her husband, John, Huntington; a daughter, Margaret (Peggy) Cussen, Fort Wayne; a sister Deloris Weyler, Pierceton; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 2pm Sunday in the Deal-Robbins & Van Gilder Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, 338 E. Washington St. Huntington. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm today at the funeral home.

She was born Oct. 27 1917 in Clear Creek Township to Jessie and Elsie May Leyman Lahr. Her marriage was April 5, 1942 in Huntington to John Dolby,he survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Margaret Cussen, a sister Deloris Weyler and two grandchildren.
Two brothers Carl Lahr and Paul Lahr and a sister Alice Thomas, preceded her in death.
