Mt Calvary Cemetery Huntington Co IN

Longtime employee of the Majestic Company, Ora Dolby,85, of 1776 Guilford St. died at 8:30 pm Sunday in the Huntington County Hospital where he had been a patient the last four weeks.

Mr. Dolby was born January 22, 1880 in Lancaster Township, to Samuel and Amanda Henderson Dolby. He married Anna K Scheiber on May 30, 1904. She died in 1954. The second marriage was to Isabell Scheiber on November 26, 1955. She died in 1956.

Mr Dolby, who retired in 1960, was a member of the SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society of the Church.

Surviving are one son, Edward Dolby, at home, two daughters, Berniece Dolby at home and Mrs. Joseph (Helen) Bomersback. (should be Bomersbach) Elwood; four grandaughters and a brother, Earl Dolby of Huntington.

Friends may call after 7 pm today in the Kroeger FuneralHome wwhere recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7 pm Tuesday. Funeral services will be at 9:30 am Wednesday in SS Peter and Paul Church with Rev. Lawrence Gollner officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Mrs. Anna K Dolby, 71, a native of Huntington county and a resident of 1776 Guilford street since 1906, died at 1:40 am Monday at her home. She had been ill for nine months and seriously ill for the last six months.

Mrs. Dolby was born January 19, 1883 in Huntington County to John and Elisabeth Gelsleichter Scheiber. She married Ora Dolby May 30 1904 at St. Catherine's Catholic church, Nix Settlement. He survives.

Mrs. Dolby was a member of SS Peter and Paul's Catholic church and the Rosary society of the church.

Surviving besides her husband are two daughters, Miss Berniece Dolby, at home, and Mrs. Joseph (Helen) Bomersbach, Logansport; a son Edward Dolby, at home, two brothers Frank and Albert Scheiber of Huntington; two sisters, Mrs. Mayme Zahm, Huntington township and Mrs. Lena Cres?? Huntington; three granddaughters, Ann, Katherine and Rosemary Bomersbach, Logansport. A son Herman L Dolby, two brothers Edward and Joseph Scheiber and a sister Mrs. ?? the rest is unreadable.

Isabel Scbeiber Dolby, 72, 1776 Guilford street, died at 7 pm Thursday at the Huntington county hospital. She had been ill for three months and seriously ill for a week.

Mrs. Dolby was born November 9, 1883 in Huntington county to John and Catherine Karst Scher. She married Edward Scheiber, who died August 16 1950. She married Ora Dolby, November 24 1954. He survives.

Other survivors in addition to the husband include six sons, Herman Scheiber, Fort Wayne, Nobert Scheiber, Marion, John Scheiber, Fort Wayne, Edward Scheiber, at home, Robert Scheiber, Laud and Richard Scheiber, Fort Wayne, four daughters, Mrs. Clara Adams, Van Wert OH, Mrs Irene Johnson, Ft Wayne, Mrs Esther Schmidt, Fort Wayne, and Mrs. Rozella Herbst, Fort Wayne. 3 Grandchildren, three great grandchildren, three stepchildren, Edward and Berniece Dolby at home adn Mrs. Helen Boomersback, Eldooe, three stepgrandchildren, five brothers, Joseph Scher, Huntington, John Scher, Watertown, Wisc., Gus Scher, Huntington, Peter Scher, Huntington and Herman SCher, Huntington, and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Keefer, Huntington and Mrs. Esther Stoffel , Huntington route eight. Three Sons, Bernard Wilfred and William Scheiber, preceded her in death.

Friends may call at the Kroeger funeral home after 7 pm Friday.

John Edward Dolby, 74, Rt 5, was dead on arrival at Huntington Memorial Hospital at noon Sunday.

He was employed at the Gneeral Motors Plant in Buffalo NY during WW II and was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

Mr. Dolby was born March 12, 1905 in Huntington County to Orin and Anna Katherine Scheiber Dolby.

Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Joseph (Helen) Bomersback, Elwood, and four nieces.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Tuesday at the Merckx - Hart Funeral Home where the Rosary will be recited at 7pm Tuesday. Service will be conducted at 10 am Wednesday in SS peter and Paul Catholic Church, with Rev. James Seculoff officiating and burial will be in Mt Calvary Cemetery.

Funeral services for Miss Bernice Dolby, 57, Elwood; a former Huntington resident, will be held at 9;30 am Wednesday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Huntington. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. She died at 6a;m Saturday at the home of her sister, Mrs. Joe Bomersbach, Elwood.

Former resident of this city and for the last several months of Elwood, Miss Berniece Dolby, 57, daughter of the late Ora and Anna Dolby, died at 6 pm Saturday in the Henry County Hospital at Newcastle. She suffered a short and sudden illness and death was unexpected. Miss Dolby is survived by a sister, Mrs. Joe (Helen) Bomersbach, Elwood, with whom she had resided for some time, and a brother, Edward Dolby of Huntington. The body will be brought to the Kroeger Funeral Home where calling hours and plans for funeral services will be announced later.
