Pilgrims Rest Cemetery

Walter Russell Dolby, 80, a resident of Grace Village Nursing Home, Warsaw, died at 5:35 pm Tuesday (Dec 20 1988) at the home.

Mr. Dolby moved from Huntington to the nursing home in 1981. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was employed as a machinest at Orton Crane for 36 years, retiring in 1976. Mr. Dolby then worked for four years as a security guard.

He was born March 19, 1908, in Huntington County, to Otha and Ovilla Fulton Dolby. His marriage was Aug 29 1930 in Warsaw to Elizabeth "Betty" Sage. She preceded him in death April 30, 1970.

Survivors include a brother Paul F Dolby Sr, Huntington; and a foster daughter, Mrs. Dan (Virginia) Penney, Fremont Calif.

Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Thursday at Hart Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 10 am at the funeral home, with Rev. Richard Dolby officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery

Elizabeth Mary Dolby, 66, a resident of 325 Beard St., died at 12:05 am Tuesday in the Huntington County Hospital where she had been a patient since April 21. She had been seriously ill for a week and in failing health for several years.

She was born Oct 7 1903 in Miami County to Oran and Nellie Edward Sage, and had been a resident of Huntington since 1919. Her marriage on August 29 1930 in Warsaw was to Walter R Dolby.

Mrs Dolby was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Floral Chapter 75, Order of Easter Star, and a former charter member of the Town and Country Club.

Surviving are her husband, and a foster daughter Mrs. Virginia Penney, Hayward Calif.

Friends may call after 7:30 pm Tuesday at the Robbins Funeral Home, where services will be held at 2pm Thursday. Rev. Richard Dolby of Decatur, will officiate, and burial will be in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery.

Member of the Order of Eastern Star will have twilight services at 8 pm Wednesday at Robbins Funeral Home.
