Harry Dolby Home

This is the home of the Harry Hubert Dolby Family, located at 801 Maple Avenue in Dubois, Clearfield County PA. Harry was born 2 November 1865 in Lancaster Co PA the eldest child of Samuel E & Mary Elizabeth (Coyne) Dolby Sr.

On the 20th of September 1885, in Beechwoods, Jefferson Co PA, Harry was married to Mary Elizabeth Clinton the daughter of William Rothrock Clinton.

Harry and Mary were the parents of 9 Children - Veda Jesse 11 January 1887, Nellie 20 November 1888, Effie I 17 August 1890, Ruth Naomi 30 October 1894, William Claire 17 December 1896, Homer Ellsworth 26 April 1900, Gladys Larue 7 June 1902, Ralph Edward 11 July 1904 and Ethel.

Mary Elizabeth Clinton Dolby was born 15 December 1870 in Dubois, Clearfield Co PA and she died 14 November 1830. Mary is buried in Greenwood Cemetery.

On December 17 1931 Harry married for the second time to Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Leonard of Youngstown Ohio by T J Barret of the Evangelical Church. The marriage occured in this very house at 801 Maple Ave.

Harry Hubert Dolby worked for many years for the B R & P Railroad. He died 22 January 1950 and is buried at Morningside Cemetery along with both of his wives.
