Statement of Hospital Treatment by Abraham Dolby
Abraham Dolby Co E 51st Reg. PA Inf.

"I took the measles on or about March 1 1864. Lay in Camp Parole? Anapolis MD. There was about 4 inches of snow on the ground at the time of contracting the disease. Was first to the hospital at Anapolis MD. Don't remember how long I lay there. Was suffering very much. I was there about a month and was transfered from there to Chestnut Hill in Philadelphia. The Measles settled in my head and I lost my hearing and speech. I am still hard of hearing in my right ear. I never suffered with any acute pain. I have never been treated by any physician outside of the hospital. I left the Chestnut Hill Hospital about the middle of July 1864.
