"Huntington Auto Driver
Victim of Scare When Driving at Night"

A Huntington automobile driver got a bad scare Thursday night when he saw a rope stretched across a road on which he was driving. When he saw the rope he was so close that he could not stop without taking a chance of ditching his machine, so he put on more power, determined to break it. He thought a harder shock would snap the rope loose from its fastings, taking the thing for one by which a cow is tied. Just as the machine was within a few feet the rope dropped and then the driver knew he was the victim of jokers.

The driver thought of the possibility of a green driver getting confused and ditching his machine so he reported the incident to the sheriff, telling him it happened near the Otha Dolby home in Lancaster township.
