Springhill, LA, Sept 6th, 2008 Kenneth Wayne Hart and his wife Deloris Jean Hart celebrated their 50th Anniversary on Sept 6th, 2008 at the First Baptist Church Spring Hill, LA. George & Deloris, we want to wish you congratulation’s & wish you many more. (Note:) Kenneth Wayne Hart is the son of the late William Martin & Lillie M. (Hutchcraft) Hart & grandson of Henry Ezra & Lillie Ann (Hedges) Hart. Henry Ezra was a brother to our Grandfather Martin Allen Hart.

Cheonan, Korea, Sept 14, 2010 William Keegan Brown was born Sept. 14, 2010 in Cheonan, South Korea to Cory and Krystal Brown and weighed 8 lbs. 2 oz., and was 20.31 inches long. Congratulations to the parents Cory and Krystal Brown, the grandparents, Theresa (McClintick) and Joel Brown, the great grandparents, Helen (Hart) and Bill McClintick. Grandmother Theresa say’s they will be back in Texas in March 2011.

Skyler Louis Roussel and Jessica Amber Lemieux exchanged their marriage vowels on March 6, 2010 in Mesa, AZ. Jessica is the daughter of Jere & Karen Lemieux and Skyler is the son of Robert and Pattie Roussel and the grandson of Marie (Hart) Roussel and the late Keith Roussel. Williamsburg, VA, Aug 14, 2010 Erin Hart Homewood and Timothy Patrick Kegelman exchanged their marriage vowels on August 14, 2010 at the Sty. Bede's Chapel in Williamsburg, Va. Erin is the daughter of Cinthia (McClintick) & George Homewood and granddaughter of Helen (Hart) & Bill McClintick and Timothy is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Kegelman. Smithland, KY., Dec 15th, 2009 Note from Janet (Hart) Hale: I thought I had sent you the information on the new addition to our family but my bad memory I guess I missed that. My daughter Misty and her husband Jack had a new baby girl born on June 24th, 2009 in San Juan Puerto Rico. Olivia Brielle Lindsey weighed 8lbs 10 oz and is doing great. Misty, Jack, Sophia, Hudson and baby Brielle are coming home for Christmas this year. I can hardly wait to see them again.

They will be leaving here on Dec 30 to go to Costa Rico for 8 months of intensive language school so they will be better equipped to minister to the people in Puerto Rico. I thought I had sent you the information on the new addition to our family but my bad I guess I missed that. Janet (Hart) Hale

Tomaco, Wa, July 3, 2010 Aiden Scott Leopard made his appearance July 3, 2010 at 7:50 pm. He was 8lb 6oz. and 21 1/2 “. Aiden is the Son of Brandon Scott and Amandy Joy (Shaputis) Leopard, and half brother to Clarissa Ann Glass (Clare Bear). Brandon is the son of Martin and Beverly (Montgomery) Leopard. Beverly is the daughter of Dee and Ida (Hart) Montgomery who are listed in the “James Hart” book , page 32. This the 5th Great-Grand Child of Dee and Ida. Dexter, MO, Feb. 5, 2010 Our cousin Helen (Hart) McClintick of Williamsburg, Va. and her daughter Theresa Brown of Huntsville, AL. visited her sister’s Vera Ross and Ruth Jenning’s and other’s in Dexter, MO. While here they celebrated Vera’s and Helen’s birthday’s. Their nephew Ken Goldsmith & his wife Daphne, nieces Charisse (Goldsmith) Bryant & husband Tom,& Carol (Goldsmith) Jolly came on Sunday afternoon for a visit & I was there & was able to visit with all of them. It was good to visit with all of them.

Dudley, MO, May 13, 2010 Our cousin Sue (Hart) Fulks and her husband Gene, of Camp Verde, AZ. arrived on May 13, 2010 for a few days visit with her sister Christine (Hart) Mansfield & her husband Neal. I went out to Christine & Neal’s on Sunday afternoon & enjoyed a good visit with them.

Dexter, MO, July 2010 Our cousin Ruth (Hart)Jennings has moved back to the St. Louis area to be closer to her daughter’s. Ruthie, we wish you well.

Dexter, MO, April 1, 2010 Our cousin Jean Hart of Portland, OR. arrived in Dexter, MO. at noon on Apr. 1st 2010 & then we drove to the Star’s & Stripes Museum in Bloomfield for a visit. Left there & went on to the Advance Nursing home & had a good visit our Aunt Ora Hart. From there we drove on to Bell City for a short visit with my son Alan, his wife Della & her mother Edna Jackson. Went on to Essex & picked up our cousin Richard (Dick) Hart & his wife Sharon & drove on to Sikeston & went to Lambert’s (famous for thrown Bread Rolls) for Dinner, which we all enjoyed. Back to Dexter for a good night’s rest. Friday, we went out to the farm & had a good visit with our cousin Christine (Hart) & her husband Neal Mansfield. From there we drove to our Grandpa & Grandma Hart’s old Home place & the visit there brought back many, many great childhood memories for both of us. Then we went by the Sadler Chapel Church where several of our family members attended in years gone by. Went on to the old home Jean’s family live in when her & her brother’s & sister’s attended the Renner School north of Dexter. That night she attended her 50th year Class Reunion in Bloomfield where she her class mates had a good time. On Saturday morning we had breakfast together & then she went to visit her cousin Carolyn Bell & her husband here in Dexter, on her mother’s side then that afternoon she drove back to St. Louis to spend the night & then catch her flight back to Portland, OR. early the next morning. Jean, I hope you enjoyed your visit as much as I did & hope you can do it again soon.

Dexter, MO, September 1, 2010 My brother Jerry Hart and his wife Doris of Mt. Home, AR. arrived on September 1st and they attended Doris’ 55th Class Reunion. They enjoyed the reunion and I enjoyed their visit.

Bell City, MO, Sept. 2010 Our cousin’s and friends gathered at the home of Harold and Vivian Hart’s home in Bell City for their well known Fish Fry’s. Those attending were: Ora Hart,Mitchell and Mary Hart,Butch and Sharon Hart all of Advance, Mo., Larry and Sandy Hart, Kelso, WA., M. A. Dexter, MO, October 1, 2010 Our cousin Miles Ezra Miles Hart and his wife Wanda, of Kentucky visited his sister, Vera Ross on Oct. 1st, and attended his 50th class reunion. I went by and visited them a couple times and it sure was good to see them again.

Omaha, TX. - June 2010 Received the following from George and Freida Hart. My grandson, Jordan McFarland, graduated from Paul H. Pewitt high school in June. Jordan was Valadictorian of his class of 85 and Quaterback of the Fighting Paul Pewitt Brahama football team. He was also all state academic in basket ball and baseball. Was on the relay team in track and also ran cross country. Jordan will be attending Texas A&M University in the fall studying to be an engineer. Jordans parents are Rusty McFarland and Kristi Hart, Mcfarland. Jordan’s little brother Rustin is going to be a sophomore and he is also the quarterback of the varsity football team. He is planning to attend the university of Texas when he graduates. You can see we have some competition in the family. Come down to see us and stay a few days. If you like to fish, we have a cabin on Caddo lake and the fishing is usually pretty good. If you don’t care for fishing the scenery on lake is outstanding. Note: George Hart – George and Freida visited our Hart Reunion in 2008 and we enjoyed their visit so much.

Salem, Illinois, June 12, 2010 A Retirement Reception was held for Chris Tanner at the First Christian Church Fellowship Hall in Salem, IL., at 2: pm on June 12th, 2010 from the Salem Police Department following 29 years of dedicated service. Harrisburg, IL – 30 Nov 2009 Lyndel “Toad” Alexander, 79, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009, at Harrisburg Medical Center. Toad was born on Sept. 15, 1930, to the late Luther and Margie (Dixon) Alexander in Harrisburg. He married Janette Pollard on June 11, 1955, and she survives in Harrisburg. Todd is survived by his wife Janette, son, Dr. James Alexander and wife Jennifer, daughter-in- Law, Cheryl Alexander, brother, Curtis Alexander and wife Jeanette, brother Tom Alexander and his wife Anne, sister Marianne Lyon and husband Gene, four grandchildren, Kyle, Logan, Ethan and Megan Alexander; and several nieces and nephews. Toad was preceded in death by a son, John Edward Alexander; and brother Guthrie Alexander. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday Dec. 2, 2009, in the John Alexander Family Live Center at the First Church of God. The Rev Shawn Johnson and the Rev. Gayle Stone will officiate. Burial will follow in the Sunset Lawn Cemetery.

Carbondale, IL. – Jan 2nd, 2010 Bobbie Leroy Brown, 75, Eldorado, died Friday, Jan. 1, 2010, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. He was born Feb. 13, 1934, to Claude and Ethel (Catlin) Brown. He married Sue Ellen Gibbs in 1954. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; four brothers; one sister; and his in-laws, Bennie and Rosie Gibbs. He is survived by three sons, Greg and Rena Brown of Mount Vernon, Kevin and Jeannine Brown of Mahtomedi, Minn. and Darrin and April Brown of Eldorado; his companion of 32 years, Donna and her children Len Bradley and wife Jayna, Danny Bradley and wife Laura, Janie Boulds and husband Kevin, all of Eldorado; 13 grandchildren, Carrie and husband Wes Plummer, Chris Brown and wife Megan, Jessica and Luke Brown, Jacob Brown, Sharell and Danielle Bradley, Emma and Everett Bradley and Cristy, Donny, Joel and Abram Boulds; three great-grandchildren, Caden and Keaton Plummer and Aiden Boulds; three brothers, Albert, Otto and Donnie; and four sisters, Betty Pruitt, Laura Hausser, Carolyn Aldridge and Linda Young. He was retired from Southeastern Illinois Electric Co-op and owner of Saline Landing Fishing Camp. Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 4, 2010, with burial in Wolf Creek Cemetery. Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010, at Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado.

Cabool, MO, January 10, 2010 Chester William Sponsler, 88, was born to Jess and Dressie (Coats) Sponsler on march 13, 1921 on a farm near Cabool in Texas County, Missouri. He was the youngest of five children. He was escorted to his eternal reward on Sunday, January 10, 2010, after a short illness. Chester was raised on a farm in Cabool where he graduated from Cabool High School in 1940. After farming, he owned Sponsler’s Cafe and the Western Auto store in Manfield. He moved his family to Springfield in 1953 where he lived until the last two years when he moved to Fair Grove. He retired after a long career as a federal meat inspector in Kansas City, St. Louis and Springfield. At the age of 72, he became a realtor, selling condos in the Branson area until 2004. Services and burial were Wednesday, January 13, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte, Springfield, with Rev. Michael Overton and Dr. George Miller officiating. Cobden, IL. - Mar. 30, 2010 Veda M. Stewart 88, died Monday, Mar. 29, 2010 at her home. She was born Nov. 7, 1921, at Herald, IL., the daughter of Orley A. and Lottie Catlin Bryant. She married Charles S. Stewart on July 2, 1946 in Grand Island, Neb.. He preceded her in death Apr. 19, 1987. Veda is survived by six children, Jerry R. (Bonnie) Holman of Cobden, Charles R. (Cheryl) Stewart of Anna, David A. (Cheryl) Stewart, Cobden, and Kathie (Ron) Jensen of Marion; one brother, Orley R. (Eva) Bryant of Norris City, eight grandchildren, seven great great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends, She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband,Charles S. Stewart, and one sister, Eva L. McNeil. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2010 in thje Rendleman and Hilman Funeral Home in Cobden, with the Revs. Dewayne Taylor and Allen Speer officiating. Interment will be in Cobden Cemetery.


New Haven IL -- Williams Jr., 82, died Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, in New Haven. He was born in Herald, Ill., on Nov. 18, 1927, to the late Richard Williams Sr. and Renda Mae (Catlin) Williams. He worked in the oil fields, cut timber and home construction. He was an outdoorsman, who enjoyed training horses and dogs, fishing and hunting and was an avid baseball fan. Richard served his country honorably and proudly in the United States Army. He was a member of the American Legion where he held position of Sergeant of Arms for many years. He was also a member of the Carmi VFW Men's Auxiliary, where most recently he held the position of president. He was a true patriot who honored his country and his fellow servicemen. Richard is survived by 3 daughters, Mary Williams of New Haven, Vicki O'Neal of Evansville, Ind., and Frances (Jim) Rush of Carmi, Ill.; 2 sons, Kennith Williams and Eric Williams, both of New Haven; 6 grandchildren, Amanda O'Neal of Auburn, Me., Crystal Bush of Carmi, Kyle O'Neal of Evansville, Amy Rush of Crossville, Ill., Eric R. Williams and Dezra Williams, both of New Haven; two great-grandchildren; Trenton and Trinity Gonzales; a brother, John R. Williams of Norris City, Ill.; and a sister, Fleeta Guffy of Altamont, Ill. He was preceded in death by 6 sisters and 3 brothers. Visitation 4 to 8 p.m. today, Feb. 7, 2010, at Cox & Son Funeral Home in New Haven, Ill. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 8, 2010, at the funeral home, with Rev. Sonny Jackson officiating. Interment will be in the Heralds Prairie Cemetery. Danville, IL. —May 6, 2010 Hans Burger, 75, Danville, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 10 at Pape Memorial Home in Danville. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Pape’s. Burial will be in Atherton Cemetery. Hans was born Jan. 7, 1935 at Burnt Prairie to Paul and Helen (Hart) Burger. He attended grade school and high school in Jacksonville, Ill., and went on to earn his associate’s degree at the University of Illinois at Springfield. Hans married M. Virginia McCormick in Carmi in December 1960. He was married in 1977 to Marilee Albrecth, and she preceded him in death in May 1994. Hans leaves behind his daughters, Mary Cary, Eva Hagley (Jeff) and Sandra Cushman (David), and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Marilee. Carmi, IL. - July 20, 2010 Laura Margaret (Stephens) Pyle, 93, passed away Tuesday morning at Autumn Woods Health Campus in New Albany, Ind.She was a native of Carmi and a homemaker. She was born July 23, 1916, the daughter of Archie and Faye (Merritt) Stephens. Mrs. Pyle was a member of Kingdom Baptist Church near Carmi and the Order of The Eastern Star. She was the widow of Nicholas Wayne “Nick” Pyle. Surviving are her daughter, Sara A. Aebersold (Jamey) of New Albany, Ind.; a sister, Lois Honnold of Kimberly City, Mo.; a grandson, Jamey D. Aebersold (Julia) of Floyds Knobs, Ind.; and a great-grandson, Alex Aebersold. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook, Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes, 1119 E. Market St. New Albany, Ind. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Market Street Chapel. Interment will take place Saturday at Kingdom Baptist Church Cemetery near Carmi. Carmi, IL. Aug. 25, 2010 Lucille Brown, 98, of Carmi, passed away at 11:07 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind. Sept. 2010 She was born Sept. 26, 1911 in Herald, the daughter of Jewell Dexter and Clara (Jacques) Aud. Lucille married Walter Raymond Brown, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 3, 1950. Lucille and her husband owned and operated Brownie’s Cafe in Norris City and later she worked at the Queens Grill, Reaban’s and Harry’s Fast Foods in Carmi. Lucille is survived by a daughter, Donna Barbre of Carmi; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert L. and Carol Brown of Hilton Head, S.C.; eight grandchildren, Gary L. Barbre, Patty Cox, Larry Barbre and his wife Lynn, Kim Cooper and her husband J.R., Mike Brown, Laurie Snyder, Becky Brown, and Tony Brown and his wife, Becky Henderson; nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son and daughterin- law, Ronald D. and Janice Brown; a son-in-law, John Barbre Jr.; two grandchildren, Kay Dickens and Andrew Brown; seven sisters and three brothers. Maunie, IL. Sept. 15, 2010. Mary L. Baker, 93 years, 6 months, 22 days, went to rest the 15th day of September, 2010. She was born in Maunie, Illinois, the daughter of John L. Johnson and Sina L. (Catlin) Johnson. She was a homemaker and the wife of Horace Wilford Baker for over 50 years before his demise in 1985. To this union was born two daughters: Vonda Joyce (Rev. Melvin) Holtzclaw and Barbara Imogene (Jimmy) Hall; and two sons that preceded her in death: James Matthew Baker and Wilford Junior Baker. She also had three foster children: Carl Arzuagus and his wife Kim, Brenda Price, and Esther Frances Hood. Mary had 11 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 23 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she could name and knew their spouses and birthdays. She had a remarkable memory right up to her going to sleep. She has one brother Ernest (June Effinger) Johnson that lives in Florida, and many nephews and nieces. Mary was a working member of Marshall Ferry General Baptist Church for over 40 years. She and her husband provided transportation for people to go to church and Mary continued this practice for many years after her husband died. She was Sunday school superintendent and worked at many other jobs around the church until her age prevented her from carrying out such blessed tasks. Pastor Bob Pollard and the members will sorely miss her smiling face and teasing way to make others smile She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Sina Johnson; husband Horace Baker; two sons, James Baker and Wilford Baker; two grandsons Michael Baker and Roy Allen Holtzclaw; brother John Johnson; three sisters, Marie Hayden, Eva Hayden, and Evelyn Spry. Visitation was 4-7 pm, Friday, September 17, 2010, at Cook Funeral Chapel in Carmi. Funeral service was at 1 pm, Saturday, September 18, 2010, at Cook Funeral Chapel in Carmi. Burial was held in Enfield Cemetery in Enfield, Illinois.

Heber Springs, AR., Sept 22, 2010 Aaron Eugene Newcomb, 101, died Sept. 20, 2010 in Heber Springs, Ark. He was born Sept. 4, 1909 in Herald, the eighth child of Lewis and Rose Etta Aud Newcomb. He was the last surviving grandchild of John and Martha Hart Aud. Aaron was an electrical engineer and retired Oct. 31, 1972 from Pacific Power & Light, Centralia, Wash. He was a member of Heber Springs Baptist Church and was also a Mason. Aaron is survived by his wife, Marjorie Stewart Newcomb of Heber Springs; a son and daughter-in-law, Eugene and Carol Newcomb of Sitka, Alaska; a son-in-law, Robert White of Florence, Ky.; four grandchildren and also greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Browning Newcomb, on Jan. 1, 1998; a daughter, Katherine White, on March 14, 2004; his parents; seven brothers, Corbert, Dexter, Laurence, Theodore, Roy, Willard and Noel; and two sisters, Bessie Newcomb and Laura Mae Masser. His second wife, Gerry Huntley Rhodes, also preceded him in death Sept. 13, 2004. Graveside services were conducted Sept. 29, 2010 by the Sugar Loaf Masonic Lodge at Cleburne County Memorial Gardens, where he was buried next to his first wife. Arrangements were under the direction of Heber Springs Funeral Home. Note: Our Grandparent’s Martin A. and Hannah I. (Melton) Hart lived on Aaron’s parents farm east of Herald, Il., and our Uncle Mart Hart and Aaron played together.

Houston, MO. Oct 19, 2010 Ansel Leycester Coats, 94, died Monday, Oct. 18, 2010, at Houston House. He was born Oct. 20, 1915, in Clara, son of Thomas Keggie “T.K.” and Missouri Kissiar “Kizzie” House Coats. He and Blanche Boyd were married 30, 1945. He grew up on the Coats family farm west of Houston in the Clara community. He and his sister, Beulah, walked to the Wolford School at Hightown and rode a buggy to high school at White Rock. The family bought a house in Houston until he and his sister graduated from HHS in 1933. He worked with his father on the family farm and with a survey crew in Texas County until he was drafted into the Army during World War II. During his years of service, he was stationed in New Guinea and Australia, where he was a carpenter and truck driver.. In the states, he was stationed at Fort Dix, N.J., and Galveston and San Antonio, Texas. He was discharged in 1945 as a sergeant and awarded two bronze stars for the Papuan, New Guinea campaigns. He became a member of Gideon’s International, serving in the Texas County Camp. He also served on the building committee for the two-story educational wing of First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters, Stella Hogan, Nellie Goldsberry and Beulah Pickett. Survivors include his wife, Blanche of the home; three daughters, Linda Nell Gibson of Houston, Judy Annette Grider of Bolivar and Helen Mae Allen of Springfield; five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren. Services were 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22, at First Baptist Church of Houston with Kenneth Gibson officiating. Visitation was 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, at Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Burial with full military honors was in Union Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.

Malden, MO. Nov 9, 2010 Zelma D. (Wicker) Elder died Monday, Nov. 8, 2010 in the Golden Living Center, Malden, MO. At the age of 96. She was born Oct 6, 1914 in Adamsville, TN. To the late James Henry and Effie Nola (McDaniel) Wicker. She married Fred Elder on Aug. 19, 1940. He preceded her in death on Nov. 14, 1989. Also preceding her in death were four brothers and six sisters, one of whom was her beloved identical twin, Velma Tucker of Dexter, two great grandchildren, Brett King and Emma Grace Elder. She is survived by five children, Jerry Elder and wife Pam, Brenda Padgett and husband Willie of Bloomfield, Gerald Elder of Muscatine, Iowa, Judy Mansfield and husband Doug of Pacific, MO., Nancy Fry and husband Bob of Malden. She was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Also surviving are four brothers, Hershel, Ernest, Vernon and Hays Wicker. Funeral services was held at 10: a.m. Nov. 11, 2010, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home of Malden. Burial was at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden, MO. Note: Zelma’s daughter Judy is married to our 2nd cousin, Doug Mansfield

33rd Annual Hart Reunion

Relatives and Friends of the late Martin A. and Hannah I. (Melton) Hart met at the American Legion Building in Dexter, MO., for their 33rd Annual reunion. A short business meeting was held at the beginning of the Reunion. Jerry Hart gave the blessing before the noon meal & remembered all of our loved ones who are now serving in our U. S. Military Forces. After a delicious meal, a group picture was taken then Alan Hart entertained us when he sang the song “The Old Man Is Dead & Jerry Hart sang some of his his impersonation of “Willie Nelsons” song “To All The Girls I Have Loved Before” , which was enjoyed by everyone. Again this year Richard “Dick” Hart, held our “FUN AUCTION” and A contribution was made to the Hagy Cemetery from the proceeds of the “Fun Auction”. Dexter, MO, 26 May 2010 David & Kay (Hart) Patterson left Portland , OR., the last of April for their trip back to Missouri and visited at least four National Parks and other sites in between arriving the last of May to attend the Hart reunion on June 6th. We had a good visit with them while they was here.
