We missed the opportunity to sing “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” to Bonnie. Mark your calendars for the second Saturday of June, 2012. In 1977 Cousin Lucille (Lucy) (Hart) Bennett and I was visiting and talking about all of the thirty nine grandchildren of Grandpa Martin Allen Hart and Grandma Hannah Iona (Melton) Hart ‘s that was born between 1926 and 1952 and we could not name all of them. I began thinking about the cousin’s and started writing down their name’s and their parent’s. When I had all of their name’s, that called for their date’s of birth, where they was born, who they had married, their children, etc. That done it, I have been researching not only the Hart’s, but several other families since then. In December 1979 the Hart Family Christmas Newsletter was mailed to about fifty or sixty relatives and it was two page’s long. Since then it has grown to sometime’s ten or twelve pages. Folk’s that is a long time to compile Family History and publish the Newsletter. As I am approaching 84 year’s of age, it is time for me to slow down some and if someone would like to publish the Hart Family Christmas Newsletter, I would appreciate it so much. I want to thank all of you who have furnished all of your Family History, Picture’s, attended our Hart Reunion’s and meeting many, many distant relatives during the last thirty five years.

Carmi, Ill. — Oct. 17, 2011 Imogene Jewell Hart Boyd, 83 years old, passed away peacefully holding the hand of the man she loved deeply for 62 years, her husband, Thomas Legier Boyd. Imo was the beloved mother of two sons, two daughters, three grandsons and two granddaughters.

Upon graduation from high school, Imogene moved to Seattle, Wash. to work as an overseas telephone operator, connecting the trans-Pacific phone calls from military abroad back home in the United States. She spent many weeknights and weekends dancing at the USO.
Imogene later returned to Evansville and met the love of her life, Tom Boyd, a World War II veteran, and they were married six weeks later. Before they began their family, Tom re-enlisted in the Army as a military trainer during the Korean War and they relocated to the Panama Canal Zone.
