C. Ray Hart, 92, of Athens, died Saturday in Life Care Center of East Ridge following a lengthy illness. He managed the Mayfield Dairy Farms for 14 years and also worked for the State Department of Agriculture for several years before retiring. He was preceded in death by his wife, Essie Lee Hart on July 12, 1986; a grandson, A. Raye Smith; and his parents, Edwin Ewing and Hester Floyd Hart. He had been a member of the Farm Bureau and an elder of the the Athens church of Christ.

Survivors include two daughters, Marie Collins of Bradenton, Fla., and Sue Smith of Dalton, Ga; a grandson, Edwin Collins of Boston, Mass.; and several cousins and nieces. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home with ministers Bill Yates and Kenneth Chadwell officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday night at the funeral home

Funeral services for Mrs. Rose Monette Brown, 90, of Shelbyville, who died Tuesday at Bedford County Geneal Hospital after an extended illness, will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Hillcrest Funeral Home. Randell Jernigan will officate and burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorail Gardens.

A native of Bedford County, she was the wife of the late Glen Thomas Brown, who died in 1996, and the daughter of the late Andrew Jackson "Jack" Monette and Martha "Matt" HART Monette. She was a retired teacher with 43 years of experience in the Bedford County school system. She was a graduate of Middle Tennessee State university, a member of Bedford County Retired Teachers Association and of Fairlane Church of Christ.

Survivors include four nephews, William C. HART of Fresno, Calif.; Jack Monette of California; Robert McGehee of Virginia and Harry Monette of Arkansas. Visitation with the family will begin 1 p.m. Friday.

Funeral services for Glen Thomas Brown of Shelbyville were held 2 p.m. today at Hillcrest Funeral Home with Randell Jernigan officiating. Burial was to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Mr. Brown, 91, died Friday at Bedford County Genral Hospital . A native of Franklin County, he was a retired farmer and member of Fairlane Church of Christ. He was the son of the late James Robert and Docia Dance Brown. He is survived by his wife, Rose Monette Brown

Jerry Wayne Montgomery, 74, of Shelbyville, former head instructor of Commercial Dirivers Institute of Murfreesboro, died Monday Nov. 11, 1002. A Petersburg native, he was a member of the Church of Christ. American Legion, V.F.W. and a graduate of the Morgan school for Boys in Petersburg. He attended Tennessee Tech and was a veteran of the U. S. Army, having served in World War II, 101st Airborne. He was the son of the late Fred M. and Wilma (Hart) Montgomery.

Survivors include a son, Charlie James Montgomery of McMinnville; daughter, Judy Ann Mangus of Port St. Richie, Fla.; brother, Bill Montgomery of Oak Ridge; caregiver, Betty Menck of Shelbyville; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday at Hillcrest Funeral Home with Ed Boggess officiating. Interment was in Old Orchard Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospic of Highland Rim. Hillcrest Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
