Its was thought that Benjamins body was also retreived and brought back to Indiana for burial but that theory is contradicted by this letter written by a fellow soldier. We know that Jonathan Kesterson, the father of all 3 men, was found and located the bodies of Alfred and Samuel and brought them for burial on the Robert Hall Cemetery in DuBois Co IN. The headstones were relocated to Patoka Memorial Cemetery in the 1970s.
