ERNEST KESTERSON

Ernest enlisted at LaJunta, Otero County Colorado, 15 July 1918. He received his training at Camp McArthur, Waco, Mclennan County Texas, and embarked at Hoboken, Hudson County New Jersey 11 October 1918. He arrived a LeHarve France 16 Oct 1918 and was stationed at LeMans, attached to the 27th Div. Ernest Kesterson arrived back in the US in March of 1919 and received his honorable discharge the following month. Born 17 February 1895 Lafayette County Missouri, he died 23 July 1957 in Fowler, Otero County Colorado. Ernest was the son of Thomas Sherman & Cyrene (McClure) Kesterson, the grandson of John Henry & Malinda (Jacques) Kesterson Jr. His ancestry dates back to Thomas Kesterson of Northumberland County Virginia who arrived in the US about 1663.

Jasper Taylor White
husband of Bonnie Ethel Kesterson.

Jasper was born about 1890 and died 10 January 1940 in the Bartley Mine explosion that killed 91 men.
