James Cordy Bowling, 91 of Hopkinsville KY died Friday 5 Mar 1943 in the home of his daughter Mrs George M Clark. Born in Christian Co KY 30 Jul 1852 he wa the s/o Jesse W and Louisa (Kesterson) the last survivor of his family. He taught school and later was in the grocery businessin Crofton KY where he lived for 50 years. Member of the Universalist Church. Married Victoria CROFT who died more than 20years ago. Survivors: Daughters Mrs J H Weis of Chicago, Mrs J Mack Croft of Crofton, Mrs Clark of Hopkisnville. Grandson James Edmund Croft and 3 grandaughters. Buried Riverside Cemetery

Howard E Kesterson, age 72 ,2300 E. Huntington, Quincy (Adams County IL), died Friday, November 23, 2001 at 7:45AM in his home. He was born October 9, 1929 in Clayton, Illinois, the son of Harvey Elmer and Lula Howell Kesterson. On February 20, 1954, he married Alma 'Fern' Stuart in St. Boniface Catholic Church in Quincy, Illinois. She survives. Mr. Kesterson was a 1946 graduate of Quincy High School and served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge, AMVETS, and a former member of the Teamsters' Union. He retired in 1980 after many years as a truck driver for Orschlen Trucking Company. He loved traveling, spectator sports, and he loved to cook and deliver meals to his relatives and friends.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Gina Law and her husband Daemon, Quincy, 2 grandchildren, Jordan Lyne Law, Quincy and Howie Kesterson Law, Quincy, 3 sisters, E. Marie White and Winifred 'Punch' Britten, both of Quincy, Vera Steele and her husband Harold, Galesburg, IL, and several nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Helen Louden, father-in-law and great friend Elmer "Boone" Duesdieker. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 26, 2001 at 9:30am in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home and at 10:00am in St. Boniface Catholic Church, Rev. John Carberry officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5 to 7 P.M. at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with a Wake Service at 5:30 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Grandchildren's Education Fund.

James Lee Stanberry ,52, of Mason City, (Mason Co IL) died at 1:45 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2002, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield (Sangamon Co IL). Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 8, at Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City, followed by a service at noon, officiated by the Rev. Randall Paine. Burial will be in Mason City Cemetery.

Stanberry worked as a plasma cutter for Meteer Manufacturing in Athens (Menard Co IL) He was born July 9, 1949, in Winchester (Scott Co IL) to Joseph T. and Vera Kesterson Stanberry. He married Nancy Marcum Cargill on Aug. 30, 1974, in Lincoln (Logan Co IL) . She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Troy Stanberry of Mason City; three daughters, Rhonda (and Mike) Karr, Dawn (and Kurt) Banister and Tonya (and Cole) Warnisher, all of Mason City; nine grandchildren; one brother, Larry Stanberry of Greenville (Bond Co IL) ; and one sister, Linda Noga of Roodhouse (Greene Co IL) .

He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Memorials may be made to the family in care of Mason City National Bank or to the donor’s choice.

Glenn Richard "Kess" Kesterson,63, of Waverly died Tuesday afternoon, September 19, 2000 at St. John’s Hospice in Springfield. He was born on September 16, 1937 near Winchester the son of Glenn and Marie Hoots Kesterson. He married Lois Hawn Mouser on January 15, 1966 in Murrayville and she survives.

He is also survived by six sons, Richard (wife, Sherri) Kesterson of Virginia, Kevin (wife, Sheryl Roberts) Mouser of Ashland, Keith (wife, Teresa) Mouser of Vandalia, Missouri, Kelly (wife, Diana) Mouser and Eddie Kesterson, both of Franklin, and Brad (wife, Tammy) Kesterson of Ashland; two daughters, Kathy (husband, Gerald Halligan) Mouser of Jacksonville and Kim (husband, Jeff) Staake of Arenzville; fifteen grandchildren; his mother, Marie Hoots Kesterson of Bluffs; one brother, Charles “Gene” (wife, June) Kesterson of Jacksonville and four sisters, Doris (husband, Donald) Nicholson of Alsey, Peggy Kline of Jacksonville, Sharon (husband, John) Hutton of Bluffs, and Carolyn (husband, Richard) Dawdy of Winchester.

He was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Judy Kesterson.

Mr. Kesterson farmed in the Franklin-Woodson area and was employed with Kesterson Home Improvement. He was an avid outdoorsman and hunter, especially enjoying coon hunting and ice fishing.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 22, 2000 at Williamson Funeral Home with burial at Hillcrest Cemetery, near Bluffs. Friends may call after 11 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home where the family will meet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the donor’s choice
