Denver Blackwood Stapp 71 of Dierks died Saturday Dec 25, 2004 in DeQueen Hospital. She was born Oct. 23, 1933 in Crossett AR to Butler and Annie Bell Linsey Blackwood. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Stapp was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband Barney Stapp, three sons, Mark, Ronald and Rodney all of Dierks, one brother Carl Blackwood of Dierks, one grandson, one granddaughter, three great grandchildren and one nephew. Funeral services were Dec. 28, 2004 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home. Burial was in the Blackwood Cemetery.

Obituary

Hiram Blackwood, 76, passed away at his home here Sunday after an illness of several months.

Survivors are 12 children; Mrs Mamie Hill, Mrs Mary Keltner and Mrs Myrtle Crawford, all of Pauls Valley, Mrs. Nellie Black and Mrs. Thomas E Blackwood of Dallas Texas, Mr. Paulie Blackwood, Mrs. Lizzie Lewis, and Mrs. Juanita Cox, all of Oklahoma City, Mrs Talita Cohen, Portsmouth VA, John Blackwood, Stephenville Texas, George Blackwood, San Francisco Calif., B.V. Blackwood with the First army in Germany.

There are 46 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Henry Blackwood, and Charlie Blackwood and one sister Mrs. Anie Love, Ardmore.

Mr. Blackwood has lived in Garvin county for the past 35 years. He was living with his daughter Mrs Hill, at the time of his death. Funeral services will be held at the Church of the Nazarene, 228 N. Pecan, at 1:00 Tuesday afternoon. Rev. W E Lane, Assembly of God pastor, will officiate, assisted by Rev. H A Casey. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Yeary and Vaughn Funeral home, Elmore City.

John Alexander Blackwood,74, was found dead at his home at 442 E. Crow about 9 a.m. Monday. The Coroner, Justice of the Peace S.W. Miller, estimated Mr. Blackwood had died of natural causes about 3 a.m. Sunday. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday in the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Rice, pastor of the Oakdale United Methodist Church, officiating. Masonic gravesite rites will be conducted at the Erath Garden of Memories.

He was born April 12, 1895 in Hope Ark. and married Clara Jane Moore in 1930. She died in 1963. He was a member of the Oakdale Methodist Church, WOW and Masonic Lodge, the IOOF. He moved from Lubbeck to Stephenville 35 years ago. He was a barber. Survivors include four sons, Horman of Pauls Valley Okla, John E Jr of Montrose Ariz., Joe Charles of Traverse Mich, Geral Blakley of Gardenia Calif., three daughters, Mrs. Annie Loper and Mrs. Dora Ellen Smith, both of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mrs. Clara Belle Anderson of Euless, three brothers, G.E. and Paul, both of Dallas and B.V. of Irving, five sisters, Mrs. Mary Kiltner and Mrs. Myrtle Crawford, both of Pauls Valley, Mrs. Juanita Biggers and Irene Emory, both of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Mrs. Nettie Claunch of Dallas, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Jimmy Earl Smith, Lost his battle for life this morning at approximately 6:00 AM. Paramedics were called to his residence when his landlord dialed 911 to report that Jim had suffered a heart attack. He was transported to Mesa County General Hospital where doctors tried in vain to resuscitate him.

Jimmy was born August 21st, 1944, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. His mother was Dora Ellen Blackwood of P.V. dau. of John Alex Blackwood and Dora Pearl Welch both from Texas. His Father was Alvie Smith from Pauls Valley, son of Vesta Cry and Charlie Smith. Alvie was the 4th great grandson of Daniel Boone and Rebecca Bryan.

Jimmy leaves behind two sons, Jimmy and Daryl Smith, 4 sisters and 2 brothers, Ruth Ellen Druding, Mary Ellen Smith, JoAnn Lawhorn, Brenda Kay Medina, Corrina Preston (deceased), Harmon L. Smith, and Tommy Smith, an Uncle, Everett Smith, and many nieces, nephews. He has many relatives in the Texas, Oklahoma, and Phoenix, Arizona areas.

The Blackwood Family mourns the loss of Gracie Neina Emler Blackwood. Gracie passed away this morning Jan. 7, 2000 at 8:00 AM in Pauls Valley, Ok. after a three year bout with Alzheimers. Her husband of 72 years Thomas Edward was by her side. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Services will be held Monday Jan. 10, at 10:30 AM at Stufflebeans Funeral Home 500 N. Willow Pauls Valley, OK 405-238-3356 Gracie will be laid to rest at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Pauls Valley.
