Services, Thurs., Aug. 27, 1998- 9: 30 a. m. Graveside services will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3700 River Blvd, Thursday, August 27, 1998 at 9; 30 a. m. for Gretchen Marie Kesterson, 97, who passed away August 24, 1998 in Bakersfield. Father Bob Wenzinger will officiate. Ms. Kesterson was born September 28, 1890 in Dewey, Oklahoma and resided in Kern County for 65 years. She had been a Librarian for 35 years, last employed with the Kern County Library. She retired in 1969 and retired in 1989 as secretary from St. Joseph's Church. Gretchen was a member of St. Joseph's, the Legion of Mary and the Catholic Daughters. She will be remembered for many things, one being the first woman telegrapher for the Santa Fe Railroad. She was very proud of her recognition from the Pope for her work with the Catholic Church. Gretchen will join her son Lee S. Kesterson Jr and grandsons Rocky Handy and Brian Lynch.
Survivors include her son Dub Kesterson; daughters Ruth Lynch of Bakersfield and Dolores Kjar of Arizona; daughter in law Barbara Kesterson of Bakersfield; 13 grandchildren, 26 greatgrandchildren; and four greatgreatgrandchildren. No visitation is scheduled. We are all blessed for having had her in our lives and will miss her dearly.

Gravesides services will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park, for Lee S. Kesterson, 69, who passed away April 22, in Bakersfield. Reverend Bud Frye will officiate.
Mr. Kesterson was born in Copan, Oklahoma, November 4, 1923 and had lived in the Kern County area for the past 60 years and had been a self-employed truck driver for over 45 years.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Barbara of Bakersfield; daughter, Debra Byer of Bakersfield; son Mike Riley of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; grandchildren, Nicki, Tracie, Heather, John, Shawna and Jaime; mother, Gretchen Kesterson; sister, Ruth A. Lynch and Dolores Kesterson, both of Bakersfield; brother, Dub Kesterson of Bakersfield. Visitation will be Sunday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Services for Ruth Lynch, daughter of Gretchen and Lee Kesterson, 1926 - 1998 Graveside services for Ruth Lynch will be held Monday, October 5, 1998 at 10 a. m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Officiated by Reverend Father Robert D. Wenzinger of St. Josephs Catholic Church in Bakersfield.
Ruth was born in Winfield, Kansas, March 24, 1926 and passed away in Bakersfield this past week at her residence. She has lived in this area for the last 60 years. Ruth is survived by her daughter, Andrea Lynch of Bakersfield; her son, Michael Lynch of Oregon; her daughteer in law, Una Simental; her brother, William J.
