Lucinda Kesterson, born 1839 was the daughter of Isham Bailey & Martha Jane (Voiles) Kesterson. She was first married to Richard Gregory 29 July 1858 in Greene County. Richard Gregory died in the civil war. Her second marriage was to William E. Ashley on 12 December 1865, also in Greene County. William Ashley died 16 March 1876 in Greene Co TN - and once again Lucinda was left a widow. She never remarried.

George Wesley Ashley, 77, of the Fairview Community died at 12:30 p.m. Monday in Greeneville Hospital. Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Raymond Seay of High Point, N.C. Nine sons, John S. of Rochelle, Illinois, Albert of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, Claude and Thomas, both of Morristown, Tennessee, Paul of Adel, Georgia, Fred of Greenville, Tennessee, Jack of Chicago, Illinois, Norman of Rockford, Illinois, and L.G. Ashley of the U.S. Navy, stationed at Paris Island, South Carolina; five sisters, Mrs. Jay Stroud, Mrs. Howard Pettit and Mrs. Estel Douthat of Mohawk, Tennessee; Mrs. V.C. Lambert of Morristown, and Mrs. Clarence Rednour of Belvidere, Illinois; two brothers, Lon Ashley of Mohawk, Tennessee and Moody Ashley of Belvidere, Illinois. 32 grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren. The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Fairview Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Clyde Rhea will officiate. The body will remain at Mosheim Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight and will be taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes before services.
