Samuel Lee Kesterson Family

Samuel Lee Kesterson, 92, of Briarcliff Health Care Center, formerly of Lee Road, South Clinton, died Wednesday (24 March 1993) at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. He had been a resident at the center for two years. A native of Anderson County, he was the son of the late William Thomas and Lillian Evans Kesterson.

Mr. Kesterson’s wife, Ocie Byrd Kesterson, died in October of 1991. He worked for many years as a deputy sheriff and as a constable in Anderson County. He also worked for the Clinton Police Department. During World War II, Mr. Kesterson was employed at the K-25 Plant in Oak Ridge and later at Magnet Mills in Clinton. In earlier years, he transferred mail from the train station to the post office for the postal service. A member of Ridgeview Community Church, he also belonged to the local FOP Lodge. His daughter, Lois Bunch, said her father raised hunting dogs several years ago and until 1987, a special hobby was raising and showing chickens. At one time he had 28 different breeds and 400 chickens. The exotic breeds won hundreds of ribbons.

Survivors include a daughter, Lois K. Bunch of Clinton; grandchildren, Chelton Forrest Bunch and his wife, Sandra of Center, AL; Kevin Douglas Bunch and his wife, Debbie of Clinton; great-grandchildren, Bethany, Ryan, Kim and Maranda; several nieces and nephews. Services were held Thursday night at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Cox and the Rev. J.T. Hill officiating. Burial was Friday at Sunset Cemetery.

Ocie Byrd Kesterson, 86, Lee Road, Clinton Rt. 6, died Saturday at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. She was a former employee of Magnet Mills in Clinton. Her parents were the late William and Ella Byrd. Mrs. Kesterson was a member of Ridgeview Community Church.

Survivors include her husband, Samuel Lee Kesterson of Clinton; a daughter, Lois Bunch of Clinton; grandchildren, Chelton Forrest Bunch of Center, AL; and Kevin Douglas Bunch of Clinton; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marie Andrews and Edna Stair, both of Clinton and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Monday night at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Paul Cox officiating. Burial was on Tuesday at Sunset Cemetery.

Chelton Forrest Bunch Obituary (Son of Lois Kesterson d/o Samuel & Ocie)
A retired Union Carbide process operator, Chelton Tate Bunch, 67, died early Wednesday morning, Dec. 14, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.He had retired after 31 years service at the Y-12 Plant in Oak Ridge. Bunch lived on Lee Road in South Clinton.He was a veteran of the Air Force and had served during World War II. His family said he enjoyed the out-of-doors, especially camping and fishing.Two brothers preceded him in death, Algie Lee Bunch and Harry Bunch. Survivors include his wife, Lois Kesterson Bunch,sons, Kevin Bunch of Clinton and Forrest Bunch of Centre,Ala., grandchildren, Bethany Duncan of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.,Kim Bunch of Clinton, Ryan Bunch and Miranda Hunter of Centre, brothers, Wilburn Bunch, Phillip Bunch, Leo Bunch, all of Clinton, Lloyd Bunch of North Middleton,Ky., Delno Bunch of Jackson, sisters, Lorene Durham of Milwaukee,Wisc.,Lousie Dishman of Clinton and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service was held Thursday night,Dec.15 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Cox and the Rev. Jim McPherson officiating.Burial was in Sunset Cemetery on Friday morning.
