 Peter Kesterson was born about 1800 in Greene Co TN. He died on the 1st of November 1864 and is buried in Bethel Cemetery. Bethel is a Pioneer Cemetery in Pike Co Illinois where many of the Kesterson and Lytle family members are buried.
Peter was 1st married to Betsy Cherry 21 June 1830 in Caldwell Co KY. Its unknown just exactly when or where Betsy died, but she wasn't on the 1850 Census of Pike Co, and Peter was listed as a Widower.
On the 8th of May 1855 Peter married Nancy (Little) Lytle, the widow of Thomas Lytle. Nancy finished raising Peters children - along with her own.

America Kesterson Lytle
3. America Kesterson was the daughter of Peter and Betsy (Cherry) Kesterson was born 13 Sep. 1834 in Caldwell County KY.
She died 10 January 1908 in Jackson Co. KS.
America married James F. Lytle 20 March 1851 in Pike County IL. James F. Lytle was her stepbrother, the
son of Thomas & Nancy (Little) Lytle. He was born in 1831 in Ross Co. Ohio, died about 1880.
James & America Lylte were the parents of George N, Mary Jane, Margaret, Joseph & Martha Agnes
Lytle.
Both are buried in the Brown Family Cemetery, Ontario, Jackson Co KS.
James and America Kesterson Lytle had their first four children in Pike County Illinois
but by 1865 they were living in Peoria IL, when their daughter, and last child, Martha
Agnes Lytle was born. The 1880 Census found them living in Watseka, Iroquois County IL.
They finally settled in Jackson County Kansas.
The Ontario Cemetery in Jackson Co is the final resting place of America Kesterson Lytle and
her daughter, Martha's family.

Berry A. Kesterson
Berry A. Kesterson born 1837 the son of Peter and Betsy (Cherry) Kesterson, died sometime about 1880. Unfortunately we haven't been
able to find his death date of burial information. He was married to Julia Ann Davis 2 February 1860 in Pike County IL. Julia
was born 10 July 1843 the daughter of Stephen Moses & Harriet (Young) Davis. Julia died 1 Dec 1917 in Hannibal, Pike Co MO.
Berry A. and Julia (Davis) Kesterson were the parents of six children .. Joseph, John William, Ida Mercy, George Lazarus, James Berry and Harriet Elizabeth.
George Lazarus Kesterson was born 21 February 1867 in Pike County IL, died 9 February 1930. He married Beulah Elizabeth Sutter and
after their divorce he married Sadie Dykeman.
Obituary for Beulah Elizabeth (Sutter) Beard first wife of George Lazarus Kesterson – Died 31 Jan 1918
Mrs. George Beard died at her home in the southwest part of the city last Thursday. Death was due to a complication of diseases from which she had suffered the past few years. Her condition was not considered serious until a few months ago, and at once she underwent an operation at St. Mary’s hospital in Quincy, but in spite all that medical science and care could do, she grew steadily worse and for the past month her death had been expected at any time.
Mrs. Beard was formerly Beulah Elizabeth Sutter, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Sutter. She was born in Pittsfield on June 6, 1871, and was over 46 years of age. She was first married to Geo. Kesterson and to this union seven children were born. One daughter, Maude Alice, died in infancy. On January 21, 1914, she was united in marriage to George Beard, who, with the following children, survive: George of San Dimas, Calif.; Mrs. Velma Little, Mrs. Samuel Heck, Ollie, Iris and Berry, all of this city. Her half-brother, Henry McIntire of Barry, also survives.
Mrs. Beard was a noble woman and her kind but sterling worth was clearly seen and felt. It was in her home that her great heart made radiant her dwelling with tenderest love and affection. Her death has brought sorrow to all those who knew her.
Funeral services took place from the family residence Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, and were in charge of Rev. J.C. Brown, pastor of the M. E. church. Internment was in the West cemetery.

Obituary for George William Beard husband of Beulah Elizabeth (Sutter) Kesterson Beard
George Beard, one of Pittsfield’s fine old family stock, died in Illini hospital this morning (Tuesday) at 5:25, where he had been a patient since Thursday of last week.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 in the Plattner chapel, Rev. C. J. Armstrong in charge. Internment will be in Pittsfield West cemetery.
George Beard was born in Pittsfield, Jan. 21, 1869, to Thompson J. and Amy Adams Beard. He was the only member of the original family still living. He was educated in the Pittsfield grade school now known as the East School.
When a young man he joined the Baptist church, but during his mother’s lifetime, attended the Congregational church. He was a member of the Modern Woodman lodge, and a Spanish American War veteran…
