In the name of God, Amen. I Moses Cadwell of the County of Shelby and State of Missouri, being of sound mind and considering the uncertainties of human life do make publish and declare this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made.

First after the payment of my just debts and funeral expenses, I give devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Mary Ann all the rest residue and remainder of all my estates wherever situated both real and personal with full power to sell and dispose of the same for her own support and maintenance or for any other purpose whatsover.

After the decease of my beloved wife I hereby give devise and bequeath all the remainder of my estates both real and personal to my son William M. Cadwell to have and to hold the same to him the said William M. Cadwell his heirs and assigns forever: excepting however the following legacies to wit: I hereby give and bequeath to the children of my deceased daughter Ellen-formerly intermarried with Jetha Smith the sum of one dollar in full for their share in my estate; To my daughter Catherine now intermarried with Julius Ashcroft the sum of one dollar in full for her share in my estate; To my daughter Sarah intermarried with George Philips the sum of one dollar in full for her share in my estate; To my daughter Susan intermarried with George Coard the sum of one dollar in full for her share in my estate; To my daughter Caroline intermarried with Delancy M. Dewit the sum of one dollar in full for her share in my estate; To my daughter Jane intermarried with Hambleton Morrison the sum of one dollar in full for her share in my estate; To my son Noah H. Cadwell the sum of one dollar in full for his share in my estate; and to my daughter Pernicia Webber Bartlett the sum of one dollar in full for her share in my estate. I hereby nominate and appoint my son William M. Cadwell the executor of this my last will and testament and hereby authorize and empower him to compound compromise and settle any claim or demand which may be against or in favor of my said estate.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 16th day of October 1872.

Signed published and declared by the above named Moses Cadwell to be his last will and testament in the presence of us who to his request and in his presence have inscribed our names as witnesses thereto.
