Frederick Bodley : Cheltenham a
native of Painswick
Gloucestershire England came to
Victoria Australia 1854 and
worked in Melb at Yan Yean (may
be working on dam) for some
months, after which he was at
Maryborough diggings for four
months but met with little
success. In 1860 he bought land
at Cheltenham and carried on a
market garden for about 17years,
he then held positions of
Valuator, rate Collector, and
Clerk of works for the shire of
Moorabbin. He has also been a
member of the school board of
advice. Mr Bodley has a family
of 1 son and 4 daughters. The
former now carrying on the
market gardening business.
