Malinda Winkelpleck Richardson
(1846-1917)
Malinda Winkelpleck Richardson was born in Tuscarawas Co., Ohio, May 29, 1846, departed this life May 21, 1917; aged 70 years 11 months and 22 days. All her life was spent in the vicinity of the place of her birth.
In 1865 she was united in marriage with Thomas Richardson. Jan. 10, 1868 she united with the Evangelical Lutheran Church at Shanesville, of which she remained a faithful member until her death. She is survived by her husband, one brother, Cornelius, one daughter Mrs. A. C. Baker, of Bolivar; one son, Jessie, of Winfield; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
In her departure we mourn the loss of one who was a good wife and mother, an earnest Christian and of such a happy, cheerful nature that her presence always brought sunshine. The beauty of her character was particularly evidenced by that bright, happy disposition, that the physical suffering she was compelled to experience for a goodly number of years was unable to dim.
She was an
earnest and loyal member of the church of her choice and a
devoted member of the Sunday school. Her presence will be
missed in the home, in the church and among her many friends and
acquaintances. We mourn her departure, but realize that our
loss is her gain. "Blessed are they that die in the
Lord."
