Wayne Co.,NC Will of Jacob Bardin-1786 File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Sabrina Corfelt Wayne Co Wills, A_Z, Page 3 The will reads as translated from handwriting: In the name of God Amen this 14th day of October, 1786 I Jacob Bardin of the State of North Carolina in the Wayne being weak in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be to God for the same and calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my sole into the hands of them that gave it and for my body I recommend it to the earth to be buried in a Christian like dessent manner at the discretion of my Executors nothing doubting but at the general Resurection I shall recieve in the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching such worldly estates wherewith it has pleased God to bless me with in this self I give desire and dispose of the same in manner and form that is to say I give and bequeath to my son James Bardin the third part of my stil. I also give to my daughter Sarah Fulghum ten shillings also I give to my daughter Drusillah Hooks ten shillings also I give to my daughter Elizabeth Durdeno ten shillings also I give and bequeath to my daughters Ann and Alse Bardin one hundred and twenty five acres of land lying on the east side of Burnt Swamp it being part of a tract of land granted to Moses Manning also two thirds of my stil and one negro fellow by the name of Peter and all ready money and sales of land and all the rest of my household goods and property to be equally divided betwixt them. Also I chose Hardy Hooks and John Fulghum whom I constitute and make Executors of this my Last Will and Testament in witness thereof i have unto set my hand and seal the day and year above written.
