Ron Bauerle's Ocobock Family Page
OCOBOCK Family Genealogical Research
(by Ron Bauerle)
Welcome to my OCOBOCK family page. I am descended from Adam Ocobock (1791-1862)
and Mary Miller (1792-1886) of New Jersey,
Cayuga Co, NY and
Clinton Co, MI.
I am uncertain as to Adam's nationality - somebody once told me it sounded Dutch,
but I haven't been able to confirm that. Some other Ocobocks ended up in
Van Buren Co, MI
but I don't know if/how they're related. My branch of the family married into
the Bancroft, then Peterson, then
Cressman, then
Bauerle families of
Clinton Co, MI.
If you have any problems accessing anything, or any additions/corrections,

Contents of this page:
- A list of my Ocobock ancestors and their spouses
- My Ocobock Descendants List with living persons
info deleted per my privacy policy.
- My g4-grandfather Adam Ocobock's grave and
will and estate records. Apparently two of his
children (one of whom was my g3-grandmother Amanda Bancroft) were only left $10
each out of an $1142 estate, and they contested the will, but lost the case.
- A map of Sections 19, 20, 29, and 30 of Essex Twp,
Clinton Co, MI in 1875, showing the relative positions of the Ocobock,
Bancroft, and Peterson farms. Section 20 is two miles south of Maple Rapids.
- A newspaper article plus obituary from the Maple
Rapids Dispatch about Adam's wife Mary. I assume she's buried in the same
cemetery (Beech (Jones) in Essex Twp, Clinton Co, MI) as he is, though
there's no stone for her.
- A list of various unconnected Ocobocks,
mostly from Cayuga Co, NY, but a couple from Van Buren Co, MI.
- A possible connection back in New Jersey is described in this
e-mail I received.
