John s. Baxter (or Stephen the S. meaning Stephen?) , was a planter who lived at least for a while or a long time, in Colleton County, South Carolina,(His son John H. Baxer John H. Baxter was born there in 1795). He was married to what appears to be his second wife Sarah Ann Smith(who is assumed to be my ggggrandmother. We will know more later. He was the father of John H. Baxter.
