In the name of God-Amen-I John H. Baxter of said state and county,being of advanced age and memory and knowing that I must shortly depart this life deem it right and proper, both as respects my family and myself, that I should make a disposition of the property which I have received from a kind Providence.  And I do therefore make this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all other wills and testaments heretofore by me made. Item 1st -I desire and direct that my body be interred in a decent and Christian like condition subible to my circumstances and condition in life. My soul,I trust to be returned unto God who gave it, as I hope for eternal savalation thru the merits and atonement of the blessed Lord and Savor, Jesus Christ.

Item 2nd- I desire and direct that all my first debts be paid without delay by my Executor hereandafter appointed, as I am unwilling my should be delayed in their rights, especially, as there is no necessarity for delay.

Item 3rd- -- I give, bequeath and deviso to my daughterEliza  Flowers wife of Allen Flowers one dollar, and unto my daugter Luraney Darsey wife of Wm Darsey one dollar and to my son Stephen, one dollar, and to my son Ira wilson Baxter one dollar, and to my son Redin Gentry Baxter one dollar.

Item 4th--- And I give, deviso, and bequeath unto my dauthter Ann Elizabeth Brown wife of Nicholas Brown not subject to the debts or liabilities of her present or any further husband, all of my property both real and personal which my be in my possession at the time of my death. --After giving the above stated shares to the legates above mentioned ,for her, the said Ann Elizabeth Brown, during her lifetime.  And after her death to such child or children as she may leave her surviving share and share alike.  I hereby constitute and appoint this said Nicholas executor of my last will and testiment.
