Obituary

Lydia Frances Drummond, a daughter of John and Rachel Drummond, was born May 29, 1859 in Harrison county, Ohio, and departed this life on Jan. 4, 1931, Franklin, Nebr. at the age of 71 years, seven months and six days. On Dec. 20, 1875, she was united in marriage to John Nyberg. After a residence of two years in Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Nyberg moved to Kansas in 1878. They settled on a homestead in Smith county, where they remained until 1911, when they moved to Franklin, Nebr., where Mr. Nyberg died on June 1, 1923. Six children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Nyberg. Two of the children, Claude L. and Donnie May, preceded the parents in death. Four children are left to cherish the memory of a kind and loving mother. They are Mrs. Leona D. Smith and Blaine G. Nyberg of Franklin, Nebr., Lavern Nyberg of Athol and Averille Nyberg of Reamsville. There are also twenty-five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. We will catch the broken thread again, And finish what were here began. Heaven will the mysteries explain, and then, ah then we'll understand. Why what we long for most of all, Eludes so oft our eager hand; Why hopes are crushed and castles fall, Up there some time we'll understand.

Card of Thanks - We desire to express our hearfrlt thanks to the kind friends and neighbors who so kindly assisted and sympathized with us during the illness and death of our loving mother. Mrs. Fred E. Smith, Blaine G. Nyberg, Lavern Nyberg, Averille Nyberg.
