A. A. LITTLEFIELD AGED 73 EXPIRES



Sackets Harbor, Feb. 6.—Alva A. Littlefield, 73, this village, died Saturday night at 11:15 at the House of the Good Samaritan of a cerebral hemorrhage. He had been a patient since Thursday afternoon.

Mr. Littlefield was stricken Thursday afternoon while in the boiler room at Madison Barracks. He was unconscious when found by his son, Carl, 16, who had returned home from school. Dr. J B. Bickel was summoned and Mr. Littlefield was subsequently taken to the hospital.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 from the Carpenter funeral home, Belleville. Rev. William F. Burton, pastor of the Adams Methodist church, will officiate. Burial will be in Brookside cemetery, Belleville. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 7 to 9.

Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Helen C. Littlefield; a daughter, Miss Patricia Jean; four sons, Stanley A., Carl G., Clarence M. and James W., all at home; one sister, Mrs. E. Martin (Evelyn) Dings, Oak Ridge, Tenn.; one nephew, one niece, and several cousins.

Mr. Littlefield was born April 13, 1876, in the town of Ellisburg near Belleville, a son of Menzo and De Ette Johnson Littlefield. He attended Union academy, Belleville. On March 22, 1931, he married Helen May Cook of Adams Center. He had been a farmer in the Belleville area. Mr. Littlefield had resided at Madison Barracks" which was anything but Barracks for the past four years.
