WEBSITE TOOLS

siteLevel SEARCH ENGINE from WhatUSeek. This seach tool was chosen because of the flexibility in presentation (multilingual texts, "search slices") and updating (schedule determined by webmaster), number of file types spidered, and number of pages allowed for a free account. (Ads only on the results pages.)

rosebird.gif & bird2.gif are based on line drawings from "Macht auf das Tor! Alte deutsche Kinderlieder" (Auswahl: Maria Kühn, Zeichnungen: Stephanie Langewiesche), Karl Robert Langewiesche Verlag, Königstein, 1905.

sblogo43b.gif is based on a idea suggested by the jpg graphic logo series created by Robert Linz and presented at Logos und Wappen.

NetMechanic's HTML Toolbox. Identifies code errors and broken links, shows browser version support for various tags, helps optimize images. Validates on-line files only. (Update May 2006: changes to the Netmechanic Toolbox limit the number of free checks).

W3C MarkUp Validation Services. Focuses on strict adherence to the standard and promotes accessibility. Will validate files on-line, on your hard drive or as text block.

Link Checker & Header Response Tool, one of the Webmaster Tools from the "Advanced HTML For Beginners" website, not only checks all links on a webpage, but identifies re-directs. (It doesn't fix problems, but knowing that the URL has changed may enable to you find the new page before temporary re-directs are removed).

Firefox Extensions* for Webmasters (and others):
Developer Tools: Webdeveloper, ViewSourceWith, View Cookies, HTML Validator, View Source Chart, Link Checker, CSSViewer. Page Info & Javascript Console are included in Firefox.
Navigation: Named Anchors.
Also: Google Toolbar for Firefox.

Wikipedia articles in English and Romanian reference pages from this website in bibliographies, especially for Translyvanian villages - (en) Boz, (ro) Danes. (None yet found in de.wikipedia)
