William, with 2 brothers, came to the US about 1725, landing at Norfolk, VA. One brother supposedly remained in the Virginia area, and the other brother migrated north to either Maryland or Delaware. William made his way southward to North Carolina, where he made a home, married, raised a family and died. Scottish ancestral information obtained through the "Scottish Church Records", compiled and produced by the Registrar General for Scotland.
From "A Copy of the Records of the Parish of Strahtblane", by Gavin Cullen, dated 8th Oct 1819 - page #64, notation of the surname in the left column of the page, followed by "William lawful son of Walter King and Helen McIndoe was baptised on the third September 1704". The witness at this baptism was William McIndoe, Helen's father.
