Meetings In Luxillian District.

Lanivet, Dec. 3rd, 1843.
Dear Brother,
The following is an account of the Missionary meetings lately held in this circuit. Should you think proper to give it insertion in the Magazine, it is at your disposal.

On Thursday, October 26th, we held our Missionary Meeting at Gracca, in the Parish of Roche. Brothers, P, Robins, W. Mason, and T. Green addressed the meeting, with much liberty. The congregation was large, a good influence was felt, and the collection amounted to GBP 2, 10s, being 13s, 8d, more than last year.

Monday, October 30th, our meeting was held at Tremodge, in the same Parish; but the rain fell in such torrents, only few attended: however the collection, with a few sillings received since amounted, to GBP 1, 1s, being 5s, more than last year.

31st. We held our meeting at Tretoil, in the Parish of Lanivet. A large fair was held the same day at St. Lawrence, a short distance from our Chapel, consequently our congregation was small; but the meeting was truly interesting, and the collection amounted to GBP 1, 1s, being 13s, more than last year.

Nov. l st. We held our meeting at Nanstallon in the same parish. In consequence of the fair our congregation here was also small; but the collection amounted to 10s, being 3s, more than last year.

2nd. Our meeting was held at Lanivet Church Village, which was well attended and a good season. The collection amounted to 10s, being 3s, more than last year.

3rd. Meeting at Tregawne, in the Parish of Withiel: the rain fell so heavily that but few people attended, and the collection was small. The friends, however, intend to use some extra means to increase their collection.

Nov. 15th. We held our meeting at Ebenezer, Luxillian. Br. Kemeys, a returned Missionary from America, and several other speakers addressed a large congregation. It was a good season; and the collection amounted to GBP 4, 10s, being GBP 1, 14s. 6d, more than last year.

Nov. 16th. We held our meeting at Bodmin, in the Wesleyan Association Chapel. The congregation was much larger than could have assembled in our chapel. Mr. Glazebrook, Association preacher, and Pastor of the Camelford Circuit, took the chair, and Br. Kemeys and other speakers addressed the meeting. The interesting account which Br. Kemeys gave of the prosperity realized in America, gave general satisfaction, and the collection amounted to GBP 2, 1s, being 7s, more than last year. I called on a friend the next morning, who gave half a sovereign more towards the support of the good cause.

We have lately had some quickening meetings in this circuit. Sinners have been brought under serious impressions; two profess to have obtained "peace with God;" several Backsliders have reunited with the people of God, and we hope the time is near at hand, when greater prosperity will be realized among us.
Yours affectionately,
G. Rippin.
