| | HASE | William | Blacksmith - Journeyman | 1787: William Hase was born in about 1787 probably in Enmore, Somerset and married Rebecca Parfrey MILLARD in Bristol in 1819. They settled in Cross, near Axbridge, Somerset and on the christening of his children, on the 1841 and 1851 censuses and on his death certificate, in Weston-super-Mare in 1859, he is referred to as a Journeyman Blacksmith. Cross was a staging post on the Stage coach run between Bristol and Exeter and it is likely that he was involved in the day-to-day upkeep and repairs to the coach trade. The doubt about his actual birth date arises from the following information: 1841 census age given as 56yrs; 1851:age 74yrs; 1859: death certificate age given as 87yrs. Contact Pat by. |
