This cemetery is named for Sabina "Granny" Thomas. Sabina "Granny" (Penland) Thomas and her husband, James Thomas, are known to be buried here, but there are no visable markers for them. Sabina was the daughter of Alexander and Mary Penland. She and James Thomas were married on 28 May 1808 in Fleming County Kentucky. James Thomas' ancestry is not known.
