 Jacob D. Blondel was born in 1817 in New York, New York. He painted portraits, genres, religious scenes, and landscapes. He studied under William Page in New York. He lived his entire life in New York City, except for a brief residence in Washington, D.C. Blondel was an Associate member of the National Academy of Design and exhibited at the Apollo Association, the American Art-Union, the National Academy of Design, the Boston Athenaeum, and the Washington Art Association. He died in 1877 in New York City.
