First Generation
1. Humphrey HIDE was born about 1615 in England. He died on 27 Aug 1684 in Fairfield, Fairfield Co., Connecticut.

Humphrey Hide Came from England by 1641 and Settled at Windsor, Conn.
He moved to Fairfield, Conn., in 1653.
His Sword and Bible are at the Fairfield Historical Society.
A great deal of Research has been done to try to ascertain the English
Origin of Humphrey Hide. Quite a number of names have been found, but each one has proved to have stayed in England. Research is still being done.
Dates of Death of Humphrey and John are investigators estimate.
Humphery Hide's wife at his death; Perhaps not the mother of his children.

John Hide was a Physician and a Deacon of the Church, at the Fairfield Historical Society is his account book, one page of which contains the names and dates of his children, himself and his wife.

In 1777 Nehemiah Purchased land in Manchester, Vt., and moved there by Sept. 1780.
The last record found of Nehemiah nd Ester is a deed dated Nov. 25, 1808, In which their son Clark agrees to take care of their "Maintainance." The undoubtedly died before Dec 13, 1808, when Clark Hide sold the land upon which their "Maintainance" was based.
Nehemiah married Ester CLARK daughter of Samuel CLARK on 27 Feb 1755 in Stratford, Fairfield Co., Conn.. Ester was christened on 3 Feb 1732/1733 in Stratford, Fairfield Co., Conn.. She died in 1808 in Manchester, Bennington Co., Vermont.

While Myron H. Powers was living with his uncle, Jonathan Powers in Fond Du Lac, WI, he met and married, Lucy Minerva Hyde, the daughter of Ephraim and Mary (Reynolds) Hyde. The Hydes and Powers were neighbors. Re: 1860 census.
On Jan. 13, 1862, Myron enlisted as a private in the Wisconsin Infantry Volunteers, He was discharged for disability on, July 10, 1862. He suffered from problems caused by measles that he contacted in the service. On Nov. 18, 1863, he joined the Wisconsin Calvary and was discharged, Nov. 15, 1865 at Austin, Texas. Military records indicate the only injury, Myron received during the Civil War, was a flesh wound to his ankle, caused by the accidental discharge of a Colt pistol.
Five children were born to Myron H. and Lucy Minerva (Hyde) Powers. On Nov. 16, 1877, Myron's wife Lucy, died shorty after giving birth to her fifth child, Lulu Minerva. Re: Telegram Myron sent to James Cutler
After the death of his wife, Myron, placed his new born daughter, Lulu in the home of his wife's sister Sarah R. (Hyde) Cutler.
Lulu M. Powers was raised as a Cutler, believing James and Sarah Cutler were her parents. In later years Lulu found out she was a Powers. After 44 years, she was reunited with her brother, Myron L, (Mike) Powers. She wrote to her father, but, never met with him. Re: Info. told to Violet, by her mother, Lulu (Powers) Hogan
After placing, Lulu in the home of the Cutlers, Myron H, took his son, Myron L. (Mike) and his daughter, Lucy to Fairmont MN. Myron L. (Mike) was placed in the home of Gad and Lydia Kendall, and his daughter, Lucy was placed with her aunt and uncle, Mary and Joseph Hyde. If record found are correct, Lucy Powers married Dennis Murray and died, Jan. 31, 1900 in Fairmont, MN
She left a husband and five children, the youngest a four month old son.
There are no records found of Myron H.'s daughter, Gracy. It is not known if Myron's son George, stayed with Myron after Lucy's death. In later years Myron H. lived with his son, George and wife, Augusta, in Wilwaukee, WI
In 1894, Myron H. went to live at the National Soldiers Home, in Wilwaukee, WI and lived there until his death.
