Ancestral Possibilities for Jacob Couch

Ancestral Possibilities of
Jacob Couch
The following was posted by Ronald Gene Couch on the www.genforum.com Couch forum in answer to a question someone had about Jacob Couch's ancestry.  Ron and his family have been researching the Jacob Couch line for many, many years and most of the information I have on Couch ancestry comes from this family.
"Has anyone found a lead as to Jacob's parentage? The only real clue is that the earliest family Bibles were in German. {my emphasis added - Bob}"

I am the Ron Couch who posted the information about Craven Co., SC, so, naturally, I believe in the possibility.  Nearly all of our information comes from the original documents filed in the Greene County, TN courthouse. They are extensive...wills...land transfers...wedding bonds, etc. The anecdotal stories are from tales told by Wm. Couch, son of John Couch, Jr., and his son, Marion Azariah, who visited Greene Co. in 1874, and told the stories to his children and grandchildren.

Most of the genealogy nuts in our family are pretty convinced that Caspar Kentz of SC is probably the father of Jacob. Also, there is a passenger list of a ship coming from Germany, early 1730's, which lists a Jacob Konts, wife Maria, sons Nicholas and John...Maybe??? The earliest records for Jacob are the first census of Pennsylvania, listing Jacob and son John living on Gap Creek which was part of PA at that time.""
