THOMAS P. MALOTT
{Father of Josephine (Malott) Storms}

Thomas P.7 (Joseph6, Peter5, Theodores4, John Peter3, Gideon2, Josiasl) Malott was born 9 January 1810 in Madison Co., Kentucky and died 15 July 1878 {the date I have is Jul 08, 1879} in Clay Co., Missouri, buried in Little Shoal {Cemetery}, Clay County. He was the probable son of Joseph and Mary (White) Malott {"probable" only because he is not so-named in Joseph's will}. He married Mahala Munkers 12 April 1832 in Liberty, Clay Co., Missouri.

Mahala (Munkers) Malott was born 9 Mary 1817 in Tennessee and died 1 February 1857, buried in {Elisha} Cameron Cemetery {a few miles east of Liberty, MO}, the daughter of James and Agnes (Crowley) Munkers.

Thomas established land rights in February 1836 in Clay Co., Missouri. He later became a Baptist preacher. The following was taken from a newspaper, the Liberty Tribune of Liberty, Missouri written the summer or fall of 1870, pg 31. This booklet lists men, who after the Civil War, and who had aided the Confederate {my emphasis added - Bob} cause, were not allowed to vote or register. Each citizen was asked to make statements of their background.

Thomas Malott - "I was born in January 1810 in Madison Co., Kentucky, and my father was like most of the older men, went to the Kentucky Wars. When you see one of the sons, or grandsons, try them and I think you will see the same of the sire. The bone and sinew came from Kentucky. I am 60 years old and a member of the Baptist Church. I was appointed to the governments being changed in any shape or form, and I have a great wish to see it again prosperous and be published by good men."
