William Bodine earned a A.B. from Kenyon College in 1890, a LLB from the University of Pennsylvania in 1896 and a LL.D. in 1936. He was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in 1896 and served as senior partner of the law firm of Pepper, Bodine, Frick, Sheetz and Hamilton. In 1912, he purchased Pigeon Run Farm in Charleston Township, Chester County where he lived in the summer months and in the winter months lived in Philadelphia with his sisters Elizabeth and Alice. In 1920, he was living in Philadelphia, engaged in the legal practice, and head of a household that included his 79 year old mother, his spinster sisters Alice, 47 and Elizabeth, 51 and his nephews William, 12 and Robert, 7, the sons of his brother Allen.
